In attempt to be unwedding related while waiting for my sparkly! I have decided to post questions about decor!
So BF and I have been living together for oh about over a year. And the one thing we cannot agree on is decor!
The vain of my existance is our bedspread. I own a beautiful yellow bedspread my mom made me:
He owns a brown plaid bedspread, that makes me want to vomit.
So as a compromise I get to pick out a new bespread but can’t find anything!!! Help!!! I made a champagne headboard and I would love to find something to match it! Perferbly less than $100. Although I do have a $50 macy’s gift card that needs to be used!
Forget the wedding details, anyone else have decorating problems with there SO?

As long as its not floral and pink or purple (“too girly”) my husband does not care.
We have this bedspread and even this was teetering on the edge at a grey/purple with those “flowers”.
Your headboard immediated reminded me of this duvet. I suck at design though, so that may be too much of the pattern and color.

Omg! I love these! How can I have been looking for so long and missed them.
@pink shoes: I LOVE THAT BEDSPREAD! He is totally not okay with flowers though, very sad. However, that one you showed me is amaaazing. I’m showing him as soon as he gets home from work!
@jules1949: I love this champagne one! It is so classy!
Now I have choices!! I will post pics of our new bedroom very soon 🙂

Or, another option would be to pick a different IKEA printed fabric and make another duvet cover out of it (that yellow fabric your mom used was from IKEA – I used it in my wedding decor!!). Or any fabric shop would have lovely fabrics that would go with your neutral headboard. It’s really easy to sew duvet covers!

I love your champagne headboard. What about a plain neutral colour?
DH and I moved in together before we got engaged, our room was bright pink so of course we had to decorate. I was lucky that he didn’t mind what I did but I decided to go with neutral colours, we have had a white bedspread for ages and I was a bit worried at first about stuff showing on it, but maybe having no children atm and no pets helps.
Anyway here is our bed, hope it helps!

You can also just get two queen sized sheets , if that is a double bed, or king size sheets for a queen bed,and stitch them together on 3 sides. Use buttons, a zipper or velcro to close the 4th side.

@crayfish: I love how you know that my fabric is from ikea! Isn’t it a great fabric! *sigh* I may attempt to try ikea again. Although, every time I go there I find colors like blue and red that I really don’t want to use :/ Maybe there will be new ones in stock!
@nzgirl: If my puppy penny was a bit cleaner I would go with white but she is so messy! I do like the idea of maybe a color that with go with champagne and the brick!
@julies1949: I think i may try that first before I go buy something, plus I already have a duvet!
Why do men make everything more difficult!

my SO doesn’t have the same issues with color, if the bedroom was pink and sparkly poodles everywhere, he would’t care. we just can’t see to find something we like. the dining room has 20 different sample paint colors and neither of us can decide what color we both like.

We have a comforter with a quilt over (so all you can see is the quilt). It’s light blue and brown stripes (with some white) and the there is some antique/hardly noticable floral in it. I love it, and FI doesn’t care much either way.
