I think it is a wonderful idea... Here are a couple of pictures I found. : )

I really like the lanterns you posted, or even the paper lanterns. Depending on your budget, paper lanterns are really good if you aren't wanting to spend a lot.
You can also hang lighted grapevine balls
chandeliers
hanging photos

mason jars
lighted birdcages
Thanks so much! Any recomendation on where to purchase inexpensive paper lanterns or the lighted grapevine balls?
@sarahh.sf: Paper lanterns are at the dollar tree. I also like the twine balls. Those are really cool.

Dear Bees,
I have been scouring the beehive for inspiration for my outdoor wedding and haven't come across anything that quite fits what I'm looking for.
Essentially, we have 2 huge trees in the cocktail area and I am looking for some way to decorate the tree branches.
Since cocktail hour is in the afternoon and there is a lounge area right next to it for guests to meander through late night, I'm not sure if I should use crystals (which can catch the sunlight) or lanterns (which can have LED light for night-time) and hang them using a ribbon? Not sure how to even hang crystal garlands- has anyone done this before?
Here are some pics from my inspiration board:
Im weary about the crystals looking tacky although if done right, it would look gorgeous when it picks up rays of the sun.
Does anyone have suggestions or pictures?
Thanks so much!
