Great idea! I'm not using many Delaware vendors, but I am using Toscana Catering for the wedding and Toscana Kitchen and Bar for the rehearsal dinner, Delaware Museum of Natural History (for the venue), Jennifer's for the dress, Sherif Zaki for hair and makeup, Montchanin Inn for our wedding night and pictures, and Sheraton Suites for the room block.
I've found that a few Delaware vendors (Liz Marden and Flowers by Yukie come to mind) who I've dealt with have somewhat of a "big fish in a small pond" syndrome and will quote you up the wazoo for things that shouldn't cost nearly as much. Liz Marden quoted me $500 over another baker for the exact same cake design, and Flowers by Yukie quoted me over $2500 than another florist for the exact same floral design. I'm using a few Philly-based vendors (Cakes by Suzy and Flowers by Mary Elizabeth) for this reason!
...though my mom thinks that they just didn't want to work with a "difficult" bride. =)
I'll fill it out after the wedding (only 17 more days!)
Rebecca, your wedding sounds lovely. Toscana has great food. Did you do a hair trial yet? I've heard mixed reviews on Sherif. My mom wants me to go there, but I heard the stylists don't listen to what the brides want.
Thanks, Miss Ruffles! The person doing my hair is the girl who does my mom's hair and who did my hair throughout high school/when I went home for college, so I have a pretty good relationship with her (Jordan). That's why I'm not using Sherif himself though, as he pretty much went to town on my mom during a haircut a few years ago without giving her any say. The rest of my bridesmaids are just getting blowouts, so I don't think you can mess that up too much. =) My hair trial is in July, so I'll let you know how it goes.
Hi Ladies,
I thought this would be a good place for everyone to list their vendors to help all upcoming brides.
