First I just have to say "Arrrrg!!!"

I got a frantic call from my travel agent who is saying she is rebooking all her clients that are going to Europe since there is a chance things may not settle over the next six weeks. Ack!

So.. A very freaked out me goes over our options. If we choose to leave everything booked and then if things haven't changed before we go, we'd be out quite a chunk if money in fees, charges, etc.

We've decided to bite the bullet and change our honeymoon destination (haven't quite decided where yet .. Probably either Italy or Japan (yay airmiles!)), but a huge part of me is SO upset since we've been planning England for 5 months and now suddenly we have to find out where we want to go and what there is to do, etc.. I'm definitely almost in tears over this, and yes, I know I'm lucky I can still plan to go somewhere exciting.. But still depressed all the same.

I am so sorry to hear about your honeymoon change.  Yes, you are lucky you can go somewhere else but I would be sooooo bummed.  Keep your chin up and know that either way you will have a fantastic honeymoon.  Good Luck with everything!  I'm one of those people that things happen for a reason so I'm sure this was meant to be.

Gosh that is a bummer!  I agree with tintine1 - everything happens for a reason.  As someone who had an overseas vacation bumped twice in the past because of things out of my control, I can tell you that I had a rediculously amazing time on the new trips! Italy would amazing and you would not be missing out!  England will always be there and hasn't changed much recently, so hopefully you will get to go again sometime soon.

We recently had our honeymoon changed at the last minute and went to Italy!  I promise that everything will be fine and you'll still have a good time!  It will be an adventure and you'll have your husband to experience it with :)

They are saying it could on for weeks or even months ( I hope not)! Try looking into southern Europe, Spain maybe?

Pooks75, there has been a volcanic eruption in Iceland that is spewing an enormous cloud of volcanic ash into the atmosphere that makes flying impossible. Flight travel throughout Europe has been cancelled indefintitely. Biggest interuption in air travel since 9/11.

perhaps make plan to go to englad for an anniversary or birthday? that way you can still look forward to it, and maybe even save more to do a room upgrade or day trip or something?

Aww I'm sorry :(  I've been to England, Italy and Japan and trust me, you cannot go wrong with a trip to any of those places!  it may not be exactly what you had planned, but you will still have a wonderful vacation and you'll have your new hubby with you.  England is wonderful, but like other posters have said, you can go another time.  Honestly, my personal opinion: I'd pick a trip back to Italy or Japan before hitting England again anyway.  Have a lovely wedding and a fun honeymoon!
