Last night I told my husband what the baby’s movements right now feel like.
I’m at 20 weeks, so I know its going to change A LOT in the next few months, but I was wondering about some of the creative ways you describe or described your childrens movements at different points in your pregnancies. I was feeling mostly bubbles, flutters and swishes, and still do, but its starting to change 🙂
Last night I said “You know what your stomach feels like when it growls because you’re hungry? Take just the first split second, the first bubble of the growl, and that’s SIMILAR to what I’m feeling these days, only lighter.”

In the beginning, it feels like cute, happy little bubbles popping in your stomach. At the end, it feels like exactly what it is. A person kicking and punching you in the ribs, stomach, back. LOL.

Gas… in the beginning it felt much like gas to me. Then there was the drop kicking of the bladder and ninja kicks to the ribs… beautiful moments 🙂

When do you feel it? I am getting impatient and I am only 13 weeks!

I dont remember the early movements so much, I just remember the kicked ribs towards the end. Wait until you can lift up your shirt and see you entire stomache shift from one side to the other lol. Its weird, and awesome. Man thats really hard, I have explained to someone what it feels like I really cant find words lol. FI would just feel my belly all the time so he could feel the movements too.

Mrs. DG said the first movements felt like popcorn in her belly, and that’s exactly what it felt like to me, too! Later on, DD was breech, so I felt her kick my cervix a lot, and I told my husband that’s like a sudden kidney shot. It hurts and feels weird, but it’s over pretty quick.

I remember DD jamming her foot into my rib cage. Good times.

Does getting a round house kick to the ribs, back, cervix etc, hurt like heck? Like drive off the road and get into an accident bad, or cry?

I describe the end like an alien trying to get out. lol My daughter was super active!

Early on it feels like nervous butterflies in your stomach, only much lower. Then it feels like gas bubbles. Then it feels like you’re being poked from the inside (which you are!). 🙂

I think it feels like you’re having quick, little muscle spasms in your stomach.

I feel like at the end of the 2nd trimester/ beginning of 3rd, it kind of felt like how your stomach drops when you crest a hill on a roller coaster and start barreling downwards.
