OK guys… don’t fail me now. Your advice has been so great in the past.
My Grandma died last year, and was cremated. We have finally received the appropriate permits to scatter her ashes. She was religious – URC – and my aunt has suggested that we honour her with a ceremomy with some sort of religious content.
My mother is an ordained minister and would have led the service, but she has basically flaked out (long story). Therefore, as it is too late to have another ordained minister do it, I have volunteered to lead the service, which is this weekend. I had little choice… of all the people attending, only I am both religious, and versed in the traditions and theology of English, non-conformist Christianity.
Ideas please… service to last around 15 minutes. People attending mostly atheist or agnostic. Service to have religious content, as par my Grandmother’s wishes, but I also need nothing too offputting. We need the standard readings and prayers, and I also need to design a service super fast, in order to have assigned relatives read appropriate and suitable parts.
