The first person that comes to mind is Jeremy Leffel. His work is gorgeous and I believe his prices are where you want them to be. Good Luck and I hope that info helps
EDIT = here is a photography thread that has more info.
I would say http://www.amorestudios.com/index2.php has most of the qualities you are looking for.
I will say that we received more photos than I could count. I loved working with them, a husband and wife team. And they were under your budget. Also, I would say their website and blog is an excellent representation of what we received. Miss Pretzel also used them.
This one doesn't scream Estee Lauder for sure but I can't believe they caught this photo. There are so many more like this.

I would also love to speak up for Jeremy Leffel, he was my photographer and I could not be happier with him. Not only is he an AMAZING photographer, he is also a really awesome guy, so easy to work with, a real sweetheart. I literally got compliments from my guests about how nice and professional he was. Here are a few of my favorite images that he took, my wedding was in October of last year:

Sorry for the different sized images I saved them differently when I posted them to my blog. He is within your price range and he is a very reasonable and fair guy. You get all the images on a DVD as soon as he's edited them, he seems to be in the business for the true love of it and you can tell by the results of his images. I highly recommend him.
Dana Pleasant photographed our wedding and we loved her! I would also recommend Amy Soper Photography and Sean Hoyt Photography.
I'm an aspiring wedding photographer in the Seattle area and I can tell you about a few photographers I love :)
First up is Jeramie Shoda. I love his work, (How about this recent engagement shoot? BEAUTIFUL! http://blog.shodalove.com/?p=2903) I love how humble and awesome he is. He's a wonderful person and very down to earth. I wish we could have gone with him for our wedding, but it was a bit out of our budget (but in yours). His style is a mix of b&w and color. His site: www.shodalove.com
Next up, Ali Walker. She's based in Walla Walla, but does a lot of work in Seattle. Her work speaks for itself. http://aliwalker.com/
Also great: Julie Harmsen, Persimmon Images and Kip Beelman.
Good luck! :)
Thank you bees! These are great suggestions. Perhaps I am being too picky.
I like Jeremy Leffel and Jeraime Shoda's work.
I fell in love with some out of state photographers. I know, I know... grass is greener on the other side. But if anyone knows of any photographers that shoot similiar to http://www.hannahsuh.com/blog/ and http://www.carolinetran.net/blog/ I'd love those suggestions.
Sigh, I'll find a photographer... Thanks for the words of encouragement!
@Cadence: you might want to look up
their photos describe everything you wanted - but I think they have about 4-5 years of experience. Very vibrant photos though. We used them for our first e-shoot but we actually liked different texture and photography styles so we went with Kaylee Eylander, who is also really great and fun!
Good luck!
I would recommend speaking to your front-runners directly about you concerns before writing them off completely. You may be looking at their gallery and some of their previous work, but the best photographers work WITH you to truly understand what it is that you want from YOUR photos. Many brides don't want an ethereal look, and therefore that may not have been a part of the body of work that they post. See if they can provide examples of things that DO fit in with what you would like AFTER you speak with them about your concerns.
I would look up Corliss Photography. My girlfriend has them for her wedding (she only has her e-pics so far) and honestly, i am jealous I did not use them. They are by far the best e-pics i have ever seen! increidble.. and so dreamy!
I used clane gessel, and also loved his work. he is also in your price range. he has a ton of experience and has won a lot of awards!
@MissDareDevil: I didn't know that many people knew about corliss! I kind of wish they photographed my wedding but at least we had them do our e-pics.
www.kimcharie.com did our engagement and wedding pics, she is amazing.

I've been searching for a photographer for over a month now (I feel like I've looked at about 100 in the Seattle area) and I'm getting so frustrated I can't seem to find one who does the kind of work I'm looking for, who I click with, and who is within our budget. Many of the photographers we've met only have about a year or two of experience. We're looking for someone with a bit more experience.
After reading many rave reviews for Jenny GG on the Knot, she was initially a front runner in our search. However, I decided her style isn't exactly what I'm going for. Then I fell in love with Yvonne Wong's work but ultimately decided that it had too much of the dreamy quality I was looking for and some photos were just too washed out and overexposed.
Here's what I'm looking for: a combination of photos that are vibrant, colorful, crisp, and clear with great candid, emotional shots, indoor PM shots that are warm and not overly "flash", and some photos with a dreamy, ethereal quality to them.
The thing that comes to mind are Estee Lauder ads. I'd like to keep it under 4k, 3k preferably.
Is this search impossible? Can you gals think of anyone? Maybe my expectations are too high and I'm just crazy for wanting all of this. :(
