Ugghhh so I have complained about in MANY MANY posts but now I really need to make a post dedicated to it for your help!

I need to know if I am completly helpless right now in regards to my wedding bands.

I have 2 diamond eternity bands and although they arent too small on my finger (they arent tight) they make my finger look super super super fat!

I have taken them to the jewellers and all he did was shave on the inside tomake it thinner inside, its not as horrible, but it still makes me so sad!

I am now asking what I can do. The jewellers are saying they can't do much more and refuse to take it back etc. I bought these 2 beautiful rings and now am not confident enough to wear them (and what girl doesnt want to blingged out in diamonds??!)

I was told you can't re-size the diamond eternity bands, so I dont know what to do. (I mentioned to the jeweller about streching the band but they kind of thought I was crazy...)

any pros on here that can help me?! PLEASE?! they're too beautiful for me to not wear!

Try going to another jeweler and see if they have another solution.  One thing I've noticed is that if I retain water or it gets too hot (like summer) my fingers swell a little and look fat around my rings.  I try to keep my sodium intake low, and drink lots of water.  That might help.

If it's gold, there's got to be a way to resize it. Throw in another f'ing diamond! That would make me mad.

I wish you luck but I have heard that eternity bands just can't be resized. I hope that's not the case but I've heard it alot. Due to the setting it would totally distort the prongs for all the other diamonds. It's something you must be sure on before purchasing the right size. I on the other hand, have to wear a ring that spins sometimes because if my fingers swell when my eczema acts up then I wouldn't be able to take the ring off! I'm not sure which situation is worse. Would you mind providing us a picture of your rings on your finger? I know you may not be comfortable regardless of what we say, but sometimes people are just harder on themselves and don't even know it.

ok, that didn't work but this is the post

in this post you can find a pic of my nasty fingers with my bands + ering on

    http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/but-i-wanna-weaaaaaaar-it

I also have to say I did try and makr sure i was ordering the correct size. I asked them many of times if I should get them bigger because of how I do have quite chunky knuckles (lots of skin in that area) and it seemed like when I put rings on they pushed all the chunk, and the lady assured me it was fine and the rings would look the best if they were all the same size as my ering. sigh

I think you are being waaaay too hard on yourself. Your rings are beautiful and so are you.

My only suggestion is that this may be happening because you are wearing so many rings on one finger. Could you try splitting them up onto different fingers?

I think shaving the band will allow you to go up a quarter size, which is really all you can do with an eternity band.  I don't think you can stretch an eternity band because of what Curlysue says:  it distorts the prongs/channel set/pave/etc. and you have a higher risk of having diamonds chronically fall out.

Your photo didn't post, so I'm guessing it looks like sausage finger?  Or is it because you're wearing three bands that all that metal makes it look fat?

If you went up a half size, would the ring fall off?  Because if it's not tight, just "fat" looking, then you'll be at risk of losing your ring.  That would be worse, right?

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. =(

aw, thank you chealseamorning! I really am trying to think positive about this whole situation, and am trying to mantra "the rings aren't that bad" and then as soon as I show someone they either a) laugh, or b) say how horrible it looks!

    UGH!

I also intended on wearing 3 rings on a wedding finger, I didn't like the 'look' my ring had with one band, and didn't actually fit as close. with both bands my rings fit more flush and look better to me (minus the fact I have huge sasuage laday fingers!)

@blightygirl - I agree with that you said 100%, I do risk if I get the rings bigger they could fall off, cause as of right now my ering is a 5.25 and when I am really cold and my finger isint swollen it can come of super easy (I dont think it would 'fall' off though) so I would be scared if I got them bigger, I just dont feel like I have many other options.

I am so bummed out about this. To have these beautiful rings my FI bought me so I can wear the rest of my life and I can't.

Chantellamus, honestly, I think you just might have too much widith on your single finger. Is your wedding band a solid piece that the e-ring slips into or is the wedding band two seperate pieces? If they are too pieces, like one other girl said, I would see about wearing them on a different finger. Some people just don't have enough space between their two knuckles, I know I don't.

Chatellamus ... babe ... wear those rings and wear them with pride!! Who cares what your fingers look like? I have to say ... no one will even notice, let alone care about your fingers with that hott bling on them.

They are hott and you should flaunt them as such! Some day, hopefully you'll get use to the stares of lust for your rings! :)

I was in your same position with my eternity band. I brought it to a different jeweler than the one I bought it from. My ring is a very thin white gold with diamonds all around. They were able to add a diamond (for around $200) and now my ring fits perfectly. Plus, you cannot tell the difference.

So try going to some good local jewelers.

I looked at the pictures in your other post, and this is absolutely a gorgeous ring. Nobody is going to be looking at your finger when you show them that rock! Here is a worst case scenario from a jewelers point of view...

Strip out all the diamonds, mount them in a new setting that fits better and is perhaps a bit wider.

I agree with MCraig and the many ladies above - you have absolutely beautiful rings and you know what?  I looked at the pics on the other thread and I think your hand is beautiful!  I wouldn't even noticed the "muffin top" if you didn't zoom, zoom, zoomed in on it and pointed out with neon signs!  I say wear the rings with pride and love of your FI and the life you two have.

I get the real muffin top when wearing certain jeans and top combo - trust me, I know how it feels to think everyone is staring at my fat ass/abs...but really, I've come to realize trying to hide it doesn't make it any better.  Just go with it.  I bet in a few days, you'll feel better; in a few more days, you won't even realize it!  And, perhaps with more time, it might even seem to have disappeared!

Okay I have to second (eighteenth?) what all the other ladies have said--- the rings look great! I probably wouldn't have even noticed if you didn't say something.

That being said (and please take this with a large grain of salt...)

Are you in a position to lose 10 pounds? I have no clue what size you are because I haven't seen any of your pics, but I know for me personally 10 pounds is all it takes to make my fingers get bigger. If you DO have weight that you already wanted to lose, this might be good motivation? Fingers absolutely do get bigger and smaller with weight gain and loss.

But until you decide to do that-- wear your rings and love them! They are so beautiful and like I said, I would have only noticed the bling, not any sausage-ness ;)

Take it to another jeweler.  I have an eternity band, though its diffeent from yours.  Its more of a separate shared prong rather than being set like yours...and I had it resized to make it smaller.  They left me with the extra diamond and told me if it needed to be enlarged in the future to bring it in.  Yes, it takes time (took them about 4 days to make mine smaller) but they made sure the prongs were set, etc.  Id honestly suggest going larger and putting those balls on the inside to provide the snugger fit.  But like I said, my eternity band is a bit different, so Im not 100% sure.  They also may be able to add a solid (but small) piece of gold (or platinum, whatever your metal is) to te back to enlarge it.  Youll have one little non-diamond area, but it would be on the bottom.  The balls would make sure it didnt rotate

Im not sure where you are located geographically, but the diamond district in NYC can do amazing things with jewelry...worth a try.

I am shocked that the jeweler told you to get the rings in the same size as your e-ring as my jeweler made my e-ring a quarter size larger than is snug so that when I add the wedding band it won't be too tight! And he also said that the wider the band the larger you would have to go and so with three rings you are getting pretty wide!

You have tiny fingers at 5.25 so I can completely understand your frustration and I doubt you have extra weight to lose - this is inevitable because the subcutaneous tissue has to go somewhere!!!!!

I would try and take it to a really good jewelry (other than the one you bought it from) and ask if they can add a diamond to make it bigger and then get your e-ring resized to match! These rings are important and you should be happy with them!!!!
