That design is beautiful! I'm going though a similar problem finding something that will not get chewed up in my printer. Regardless, I think it would look lovely on either cream or ivory. You might even want to consider something shimmery like papersource cover weight paper in Opal (http://www.paper-source.com/cgi-bin/paper/color/8-1-2-x-11-Cover/2505.131/833.html) It's shimmery without being too *bling*.
Or maybe a dark pink paper to print on and then use the silver A7 cardstock to back it with?
In terms of what you put around the invitation I think maybe a thin silver or black ribbon would look pretty.
Don't know if any of that would be useful. Just my two cents.

HI :) I'm having a really hard time picking paper for my DIY invitations and it's driving me crazy! I ordered a bunch of paper samples from Paperandmore and didn't love any of it. When I just printed my 3 pieces on 110 lb plain cardstock from Staples they just looked so cheap and boring! I'm thinking about matting the invitations on silver A7 cardstock..would that look good with silver envelopes? What color and type/weight of paper should I use to print of the invites? Should I use lighter paper for the invites since it will be on silver and use 110lb for RSVP and reception? How can I make the other 2 pieces not so plain and cheap feeling? Belly band? twine? OVERLOAD!! Did I mention I have about 3 weeks to get these out? go me!
