    Hi all -

I'm new to the website but I've been watching it for a couple months now and could really use some help!

Fiancee and I are set to wed in Floriday Memorial Day Wknd 2010, on the beach, with an intimate outdoor reception immediately following the ceremony.  I'll be wearing the following Nicole Miller dress.  My bridesmaids and MOH will be wearing the following Cypress colored dresses from JCrew in different styles. The Groom and Best Man will be in cream-light tan linen suits.  We haven't decided on shirts/ ties yet.

I love green.  It is my favorite color, which is why my girls are in the cypress dresses (the color also flatters each of them!) but I cannot decide on another color.  I'm definitely using a cream color in the flowers and decor as well, but want another color.  According to the colorwheel, the most complimentary color would be a purple, but I am not a fan.  I love blue and pink.... and each of them looks fabulous with green.  Please help!  I have seen so many options in each color.  Aqua, dark blue, pale pink, hot pink... Agh!

    Advice?!

I love pale pink, and especially pale pink peonies.  They'll be readily available right around your wedding time and would make an awesome flower choice.  Green and cream are my colors too. :)  Only, my other color is grey.

I agree, pale pink might be a really pretty color to go with the other ones you have chosen and Peonies are in season right around Memorial Day.

Thanks so much for the advice!  I also love peonies. :)  Grey is a great choice - I love that!  I wanted to use a more neutral tone as my third also, but everything I looked at didn't fit with the beach.  :(

Aw ww I was going to say plum purple... but you do not like it.. maybe like a pail yellow, navy blue or charcol grey.

Pale pink with touch of creamy yellow, like the centers of peonies.

I think any shade of pink will look great with the dresses you chose.  I am going with a similar green and a dark shade of pink similar to a dark raspberry.  Good luck, its going to be beautiful!

I would say don't worry about doing a matchy matchy color scheme but it sounds like you are pretty set on getting an accent color. My vote would be a light dusty rose or pale pale pale pink (think just a touch of pink not cotton candy pink)

Personally - I would pick a blue or a pink and go from there - there is no rule that you can't have MANY shades of the same color.

For me - picking my colors - I needed it to be really visual - I used paper, but you could use fabric or anything else.  Holding them physically together helped me decide.

My personal opinion is that beachy weddings look awesome with blues and aquas.  So why not the cypress with a navy or dark blue and all of the lighter colors in between.

Ok I see the dress now.  Definitely the pink.  I will look great with the color of the bridesmaids dresses.

All - Thanks so much!  I'm going to take Quireda's advice, grab my sister's bridesmaid dress and go look at fabrics to see what looks best.

I've seen green and pink done several times and it always looks very romantic and natural.  I think if you want something subtle- go with a pale pink, if you want a kick of color--use fuschia.  I could also see an orange/peach working with that green.  Since you're on the beach, I like the idea of keeping the pallete in natural colors--even navy or aqua would work.

I want to thank everyone again for all the help!  My MOH and I took a trip to the fabric store and decided on cream (like my dress), cypress green (like the maids' dresses), bright navy, and minimal accents of hot pink.  I'm very happy with the colors together!
