Congrats! We had the same thing happen to us! It KILLED me not being able to tell my mom right away (we are crazy close) but it was so much fun having something just between my husband and myself.

Honestly, time is going to FLY! You’ll be telling people soon enough!

Congrats! Those first few weeks are really hard to wait! I told my sisters right away and that helped. And I spent so much time on here talking to other girls due around the same time. We’ve all stayed in close contact on Facebook too. When are you due?

ThatStarkGirl:  I am younger by 5 days lol! There used to be an acronym key thread a while back, I wonder what happened to it. 😉

Geez, I am right there with you. Just got bfp 4 days ago and I feel like I am walking around like that cat that ate the mouse. The only person who knows we were trying is my MIL. I feel like she is just going to know when she sees me : ) It took nine long, extremely frustrating months. I’ve been on the pill forever and much to my surprise my cycles were totally wacked when I stopped the pill. It was a total shock because I’m really healthy. You are so lucky it happened quickly, it was so stressful dealing with potential infertility.

Are you having any symptoms? I’m a little tired and more hungry and have occasional twinges/pressure in lower abdomen, but nothing too remarkable yet. The whole thing doesn’t even seem real!

Is this your first? It is for me.

Congratulations!  Honestly, I don’t know how other people keep it a secret either.  We started telling people almost immediately.  My dad knew within a week.  My mom and my DH’s entire family knew within 2-3 weeks.  By the time I was 6-7 weeks pregnant, we had told all of our close friends.  I ended up telling my work at 9-10 weeks because I just couldn’t hold it in any longer.  I know lots of people make it to 12 weeks before telling ANYONE, but I honestly don’t know how they do it.  There’s no real rule about it anyway.  Do what y’all feel comfortable with.  For us, we decided early on that if I did suffer a miscarriage, we would need the support of our friends and family to get through it.  It’s a personal decision, so do what’s right for you.  It doesn’t matter what everyone else does.  Congrats again!

Congrats! We got pregnant on our first try as well, and the excitement was overwhelming! We told our immediate families right away. My DH was super excited and started telling people…I kept telling him to shhh! We had our first ultrasound at 10w5d and we ended up making our big annoucement to the world then, mostly bc DH had already blabbed (lol) and I didn’t want anything slipping on facebook, and I was too exited to keep it in any longer! (I also had terrrrrrrrrrible “morning” aka 24/7 sickness in the beginning of my pregnancy, so it was hard to keep it under wraps any longer)
