I LOVE Cannon in D, I think it is very traditional and beautiful.  Something about walking down the aisle to the same thing so many other have before seems special.

My friend had her quartet play Fix You by Coldplay for when she walked down the aisle, it was actually really sweet.

I’d contact the quartet and ask them for a list of modern pieces they play and then pick from those.  It’s likely they have ones they do really well….

definately call them and ask for a list of their prepared pieces. you do NOT want something that they dont know well that they play.

Oh my gosh I HATE Canon in D. Not to threadjack, but my piano teache made me play 15 different versions of it throughout my time with her. Whenever I hear that melody I just snap inside and want to scream!!

Dang piano teacher ruined my appreciation for the song. :-/

@serasvictoria: OMG! Me too! I played classical violin for 13 years and I cannot stand Canon in D now.
