I think you should have more than just cheesecake – what if someone is lactose intolerant!

I think desert bars are so much fun.  But I like the assorted cheesecake idea too.  I’m not a fan of a cake bar, but that’s because I don’t like cake.  lol

We LOVE ice cream.  We are doing a DIY ice cream bar.  And renting a soft serve ice cream machine.  Or we might just have small bowls with ice cream already in them.  And a lot of different fun toppings.

You should do 50% cheesecake (different kinds) and 50% other stuff like lemon bars mini fruit pies brownies etc.

We did probably 75% cheesecake, with a few other things. I LOVE cheesecake, and most of our guests did, too, but I wanted variety, just in case (we also had a vegan guest). We also did a carrot cake, russian tea cakes, chocolate truffles, pizzelles (my late grandmother’s recipe) and tiramisu. It was a hit, and I was very pleased.

I voted for the cake bar because I feel that there are some guests (especially the older generation) that look forward so much to the cake.  However, I personally, would love the 2nd option.  Maybe decide on two small, one tier cakes (a his and hers)…could have a ribbon going from  one cake to the other, or something like that.  And then, surrounded by other desserts you mentioned above.  Just a thought…

It sounds as though you guys like the idea of cheesecake, so I’d definitely keep that in.  Unless you know that every person attending is not lactose intolerant (and are certain that all of your guests actually like cheesecake), I’d opt for other goodies as well.

As a previous poster mentioned, you could do 50% cheesecake and 50% other stuff.  This might cut the cost a bit and reduce waste.  I would suggest choosing just a couple of other options … Your guests probably don’t need a choice of 10 desserts.  If it were me, I’d probably go with cheesecake, a fruit-based dessert, and a chocolate dessert.

you should have some cheese cake and others as well. some might not want to eat cheese cake as there are quite fulfilling, some might have an allergy to lactose or peanut, ans the leftover wont go into waste, you can keep the rest or gave them to guess to take home.
