In addition to the standard menu (3 piece finger food, stationed cheese/fruit, salad, entree, wedding cake), I would to offer my guests something unexpected after the cake is cut. We only have enough budget to do one or the other..so please help me decide!
As a guest, would you rather have a dessert buffet (chocolate dipped strawberries, mini cupcakes, caramel apples, cream puff, fruit tart) or beef sliders w/ fries? My gut tells me that the ladies would prefer more dessert while the men would wants some more grub (since we have an open bar)!

- Wedding: June 2010 - Ceremony - First United Methodist Church; Reception - My parents' house!
We’re doing sliders, but as a part of the main spread. I think if it’s an addendum, I’d want a bonkers amount of sugar. 🙂

I love the idea of sliders with fries. I am totally a carb fiend so I would be all over that! Plus after people have been drinking…fries..um YUM

I voted for the sliders. I love greasy food when I’m drinking, so that was an easy choice for me. 🙂

I’d love some sliders and fries after a night of dancing. If the cake cutting is too close to the actual meal people might be too full to eat again.

I think this really depends on your crowd, as in, will they be dancing and partying into the wee hours? If yes, go with the sliders. If it is a more sedate affair with few partyers, go with the dessert buffet. Sugary desserts don’t do much for you when you’ve been drinking hard. So, if you expect things to go late, bring on the grease.
