Mini coconut macaroons
Chocolates ex. hersheys kisses, gold nuggets, SF choc covered peppermints
Cookies ex. choc chip, raisin, white chip macadamia
Quick bread slices- ex. banana, pumpkin, lemon, zucchini

creativeplannertobee: Nix the wedding cake completely and serve all of those instead. You have some nice choices there.

My favorites are all the chocolates listed, vanilla cake, the macaroons and the choc chip cookies!

I agree they are all delish! The chocolates are probably the most convenient to get together though.

I would nix the cake and the quick bread they seem like more work (slicing /portioning) then they are worth.
I You want a bready dessert why not brownies? They seem thicker and easier to manage.
Also a filler item I am using for my dessert bar is donut holes!! You can get boxes at the grocery store or order them from the donut shop.

I’m not a huge fan of cake at all, so I’m having a cookie buffet with family recipes. So I vote for the cookies. I also love macaroons, and if I eat cake, it’s cupcakes, so the mini 2-bite version is great to have a taste of a couple different flavors. The chocolates would be an easy thing to get, too.

babykoala: oh. em. gee. FI loves Dunkin Donuts and we don’t have them in our town, but they’re all over in our wedding city…..would LOVE to do this for our reception! Cute presentation too!

I love all those ideas, but agree about the quick bread…seems like a lot of work and time, unless you already have an idea of how it will work. I’m doing a dessert reception (though there will be finger foods too) I love the donut hole idea! Some people don’t like chocolate, so the vanilla cake and macaroons are good to have!
oh! another idea for people who aren’t fans of chocolate is blondies (like brownies but white cake). Easier to eat since it’s a bar, and there’s tons of flavor ideas! I did funfetti ones for a party and people liked them, so I think I might try doing them again. There’s also lemon bars, truffles or cake pops, Oreo pops, pie! All things I’m considering haha

Thank you all Very Much!! This is actually for my first trade show this weekend, so I need to purchase items instead of bake, however, I have one more grocery store to scout out tomorrow, so hopefully they will have more of a selection from the ideas you gave me! Although, I did find mini-cinnamon buns at Costco today, so those are now on the list!! (They also have a selection of sliced breads, yet surprisingly no brownies or donut holes found yet). So I hope this post is also helpful to other brides!!
