ive chosen the designer (dessy) and ive chosen the colour – saphire blue, as i think its lovely!
but now im completely stuck as to the fabric. in terms of looks – i do prefer the satin. but as the wedding is in mexico and itll be hot, im wondering if chiffon would be cooler. and would sweat patches show up on satin? thing is, by the time theyve added the multiple layers for the chiffon that doesnt seem all that cool either!
im wavering and i need to make the decision asap. anyone want to give an opinion?!
the civil wedding with the judge is outside at 2pm, the catholic wedding is at 6 followed by the reception, so heatwise im only really worried aabout the civil bit. a compromise could be to let them where whatever for the civil and then get dressed up for the catholic. but i dont know!!

You could do the compromise! Satin is not that hot, especially for the relatively short amount of time that the civil ceremony will actually take. Talk to your girls first and see if they have an opinion, but I would go with whichever you prefer.

I like @mepayne: idea of asking your BMs and see what they think.
I had Dessy in chiffon and these are what they looked like on the day. I think satin may show the ‘real’ colour better perhaps in photos as mine looked more bue where in reality they were more like Tiffany Blue, perhaps speak to your photographer too

I just got a swatch of matte satin (in espresso) for my Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, and it looks great! So it’s definitely a good choice if you go that way. I would go with what you really want. I assume the civil ceremony won’t be too long and worse comes to worse they could wear something more casual during that and then switch into the Dessy dresses.

A friend recently had an August wedding on a warm day (not hot) and her sister had big sweat stains on her chiffon dress. So I don’t know if they are all that much cooler?

my bridesmaids keep saying “it your day, we’ll wear whatever you want”. which is lovely…and sweet. but i have decision fatigue hahaha…i just cant make any more decisions right now haha
my mum says its better to have all dresses in same fabric (but different styles are fine) otherwise id just say to pick whichever dress they prefer in any fabric, providing its the right colour

@Pinkmoon: oh hell, so people are likely to sweat regardless of the fabric?
