my dw wedding is in july, and our at home reception will be in october! a big gap, because we wanted to make sure we’d have our pictures back to be able to show everyone. i wanted to have an informal reception, but it’ll be slightly more formal due to my family’s wishes. I probably will wear my dress again, but not the whole night. just to show those who haven’t seen it yet.

gl with your reception/wedding planning! it’s not easy, i know!

We are doing Nov 5 and Nov 27th. It will be a formal reception. I have a fun short dress for the Destination Wedding and a long a-line for the reception

My SIL was planning a reception for our friends two months after we all came back, and in the end, we decided not to go through with it, because we had seen everyone in the meantime and we didn’t feel comfortable celebrating “us” after the fact… A big factor in us choosing a Destination Wedding is that we both do not like being the centre of attention, so a big party for us after the fact kinda goes against the point…

My parents are having a bbq in July for my family, we’re only going along with it because it’s on my b-day, and my grandmother’s as well, so we have something else to celebrate… My dad did our wedding video so he’ll unveil it on that day. My grandmother wishes I would wear my wedding dress, but as much as I’d love to get to wear it again, it’s now cleaned and stored, I don’t want to pay again to get this done! So it will be casual.

My Destination Wedding is in August and the reception is in October. I live in the south and we wanted to wait for the weather to cool off a bit. I am wearing my dress to both-the reception is a full wedding reception with 200+ guests.

We’re getting married at the end of May and will most likely have our AHRs during the summer. We’ll have two because our families live in different states but both will be somewhat casual.

My Future Mother-In-Law is planning a cookout at their house and my parents will probably have something at a restaurant.

I don’t plan on wearing my dress to either.

We are doing this too, well most likely.  It depends on how many can come to our out of state wedding.  If most cannot make it we’ll do the separate reception back home after.  There might be quite a gap because our wedding will be during Spring Break (we are students) and we won’t have time to deal with a reception after we get back until the semester is over in May, and also because we will be exhausting all of our funds to get to our wedding location and get married;  we won’t likely have MONEY for a reception for a while after the actual wedding.  We live in South Texas and if we cannot afford an indoor place it will have to wait because it’s just too hot in summer to do it outside, unless we do it right at the end of May, MAYBE.  Sometimes it’s already too hot by then!

I hope to wear my dress to the reception though, regadless of if it’s in a park or somewhere fancy!
