hmm. I’m not planning on hiring a day of coordinator, but that’s mostly because I’m a cheapskate 😛 I hear they make the day so much smoother though. I’ll be relying on family to help out.  Do you have an organized/take-charge kind of person to help delegate tasks to vendors?

Yeah, I think that’s a good idea.  Also, I’m not sure how it works for your area but you may need to trust someone with $$ to give out tips/final payments/etc. to the vendors, since you probably won’t have time to do it yourself.

I would love a DOC, but it isn’t in our budget to have one. We are just goint to have some family members help us out, and talk to then vendors beforehand. I plan on showing up a week in advance to ensure things go smoothly before the wedding.

If I could afford it though, I probably would have one, just so it is one less thing I have to worry about.

I am hiring a wedding coordinator, but I’m limiting the package to the low-end one the company offers.  Since I’m planning my wedding in six months, and I live halfway across the country, I could use the extra help.  I’ve never even been to my destination–ha!

For me, $3000 is a small price to pay for peace of mind and sanity.  If I DON’T hire a coordinator, my therapy bills for the weeks before the wedding will go through the roof 🙂
