i would be more inclined to hire someone whose portfolio i liked that travelled for free versus someone's portfolio i liked and i had to pay for their travel, simply becaus the former is cheaper!

While I like the option and know that a lot of brides do it, and I don't think it would be difficult for you to add. However, I always prefer to buy local. And I am applyit to my photography search as well.
@CassidyR: i guess i was thinking more of a destination wedding so even going with a local photog to the area would mean someone you can't meet until a few days before your wedding.

Would brides be more inclined to hire a photographer (in their price range) that traveled across the country for free? Or is that "unprofessional"?
