is this a second for you? or will this be the official reception? if it's the second, I would almost just let them plan the whole thing and be surprised.
I do love the element of surprise! I guess I just want my culture represented somehow. This will be our first reception (we eloped in Jan) but we are hosting a reception here after the one in SL.
oh! i'd let them just do the whole thing - trying to plan 2 things on top of your elopment sounds like too much work : )
Well, the elopement is done, we were married in Jan! I just got more details too on what they are planning to do and I cant say I agree with all of it. So, maybe I will just let them take the reigns and be 100% surprised.

My inlaws are planning a reception for us in Sri Lanka. They've sent us a few of the hotel names they've visited- but other than knowing the hotel they choose, I wont be planning a single element of this reception. I think it will be great to experience a traditional Sri Lankan wedding reception- but the reception is for me too. I want to some how incorporate a traditional detail from my side, but Im not sure how or, more importantly, what. Besides a white dress, what else can I incorporate?
