My son and fdil are getting married while on a cruise. As a result there will only be a handful of guests. I would like to have a bridal shower for my DIL…. would it be okay to invite people knowing they will not be attending the wedding. Naturally anyone who wants to attend the wedding is more than welcome, however in reality few will be there.

I think it’s important to only invite those who are invited to the wedding. Obviously a lot of those people won’t be attending, but it is more important that they are invited in the first place.

I had a destination wedding, and some ladies from back home threw me a huge shower. Three quarters of the people in attendance were not invited to the wedding, but we are going to have a huge reception back home this summer and they will all be invited to that. I think its up to you. From my experience, there were no hard feelings amongst my shower guests, they were just happy to be apart of my wedding experience.
