My wedding in Hawaii is 4 months away and having trouble coming up with NON-FLOWER centerpieces for the reception because I feel it's a waste of money and people won't be able to travel home with a bulky centerpiece...any suggestions?

The pineapples are so cool!  Do that and give them away to your guests at the end of the night!

My sister-in-law got married in St. Thomas and had a reception back home, she had the cutest centerpieces. She filled little fish bowl vases with sand from St. Thomas and then put an assortment of shells and starfish on top of the sand. Tied a ribbon around the top of the vase and called it good. These could end up being pretty cheap because you should be able to just fill the vases with sand while you are in Hawaii. And you may even be able to purchase the shells there too.

I just read the part about traveling home with the centerpieces...I guess you could just send the shells home with your guests. Sorry, maybe this isn't all that helpful!
