Ok, here’s one:

Did you have to pick out all of the details before you arrived(bouquet, ceremony location, dj or no dj, menu) or did you have a meeting with the wedding coordinator at the hotel upon arrival to sort all that out?

Did it turn out the way you expected?

@TheBOHObride:  Thanks for the offer!  I have two: 1) Although we went to a dw of 130 guests I’m learning that that isn’t so common.  I would like to have 100+ and the resort seems to be taken aback.  They actually start charging for additional seat covers and other misc expenses after the 50th person or so.  How to negotiate this?  Since it’s an all-inclusive I would think that the more guests paying, the better for them!  2) Is there any way to help guests out with expenses at an all-inclusive, falling short of paying for airfare or for rooms?

@TheBOHObride:  How far in advance should you send STDs and invites to a DW in the Caribbean? Trying to figure out if I’m late yet…

I recently got engaged and have ton of questions about destination weddings! FI and I really want a DW but after trying to get over the fact that many people will naturally not be able to make it and the guilt of making our guests pay so much money to attend, I just don’t know where to start!

First, we cannot settle on a location. Our ideal date is Friday, Aug 15, 2014. These are the factors we re considering:

-It’s hurricane season & peak travel season

-Ease of getting there

-Cost of travel & accomodations for us and our guests

-We are hoping to keep our budget at 17k, including my dress, our travel expenses and all wedding related costs

-We are thinking of having 50-75 guests

-An all-inclusive resort is preferable

-We are catholic so a chapel onsite is necessary for a catholic ceremony

My question is, in your expert opinion which of these locations is best for me? I have previously been to all of these places and I listed them starting with my favorites:

-Puerto Rico: Pros are you don’t need a passport and flight is only about 4 hours. Cons are August is the wettest month (7 inches) due to hurricane season and there are no all-inclusive resorts.

-Aruba: Pros are weather is great all year long and there is no hurricane threat. Cons are all-inclusives are uncommon/expensive, passport is required, and flight is around 5 hours.

-Cancun: Pros are there are ton of all-inclusive resorts and prices seem to be more reasonable. Cons are you need a passport and August can be humid and wet due to hurricane season.

-Clearwater Beach/St Petersburg, Florida: Pros are it’s easy and cheaper to get to (guests can even drive from Chicago). Cons are August is the wettest/most humid month and the price of the actual wedding will be more expensive.

We didn’t consider other Carribbean locations due to hurricanes. I would also like to know if our budget is reasonable and which of these locations will be the cheapest for our guests and the actual wedding. Sorry for such a long post and thanks so much in advance! Smile

Yes, that would be great! Thanks so much, I really appreciate it. How do I get a consultation?

@THEBOHOBRIDE  My FI and I are now considering a Destination Wedding to Jamaica. Is it rude for us to pick a resort that is Adults or Couples only when family memebers have children? and also he has a 6 yr old half brother. I don’t mind the children coming to the wedding persay, but I dont want to have to focus on picking something that also caters to children for our wedding/honeymoon. Help!

@TheBOHObride:  I am planning Negril too. Where are you going? We are thinking CSA over CN, and we don’t want to spend the money on Sandals.
