- Wedding: April 2012
This was our 4th wedding altogether (with the same person!), there’s this whole history where our wedding spanned over the course of 1.5yrs in 3 countries due to relocation and pleasing my chinese parents. So this was the final wedding where we both got proper dressed up (previous wedding affairs were very casual family/friends dinner) with me in the big white dress.
Location: Florence, Italy (Villa Fiesole)
Date: 21st Apr 2012
Number of guests: 20
Wedding Planner: Gaia Cinotti (absolute angel, fantastic!)
Photographer: David Bastianoni (extremely accomodating, creative and just plain awesome!)
It was an intimate affair, guests who attended were truly our best friends & family that cared and travelled far for this event. The week we arrived in Florence, weather was absolutely horrid with numerous downpours everyday! We hoped and crossed every single finger, on the 21st the sun came out! Not a drop of rain till midnight too!
Started the day with professional hair & makeup at our villa, girlfriends arrived to help me get dressed. We went into the city centre for photos for about 2 hours, back in time for 4.30pm ceremony.
After the ceremony, I changed into a custom made chinese dress (with respect to my heritage) and we had a sit down dinner + dance.
It was such a great day, I had procrastinated so long in posting this, until now I still keep replaying every moment of the wedding and I loved every bit of it. So much happened, and rather than writing it, maybe will let you guys piece the story together with these pics 🙂 There are just so many pictures, we had 2000 to choose from and we managed to scale down to 60 I think. I really can’t decide which to post or not, so I am uploading as much as I can, eeeek. The most memorable moment I have to say, was the first look. I sat on a bench waiting for him to come out from the room, and when he saw me he kept repeating over & over again, You Look Awesome! We both cried…
I had major jitters before the wedding, even posted here about second guessing my awful choice of dress, accessories etc. After getting all dolled up that day, my doubts absolutely just melted away and now I have to stop myself from reaching for that dress and putting it on again!
Anyone needs any help / suggestions in planning a destination wedding, let me know cos I have been through it all!
Enjoy the pictures.
