I am getting married in the Dominican in a few weeks and am starting to wonder if I am going to be way too hot with my choice of dress. It is fine for the wedding but when I want to go dancing and partying after I was thinking of getting something else. Here is my wedding dress: http://thebridalboutique.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/paloma3900.jpg
I seen this dress at BCBG but do not know if it is exactly bridal’ish or too skimpy:
Thoughts? 😐 Yes to another dress? Just keep the long one on all night? Yes to this dress? Helpppppppp.

I would suggest trying the dress on in person before making a decision. Those dresses always look a lot shorter on the models than they are in real life. Other than that I really dont think it is too skimpy. I think its a very cute dress!

I love the BCBG dress! I think it’s adorable. I think I may try it on for my bachelorette party! Thanks 🙂

To me, it seems pretty short… but dresses fit everyone differently. Can you can try it on & see how well it fits you?

Well I am also a destination bride, Im getting married on the beach and are wearing a as you would call it “regular’ bridal gown, but I am currently looking for a after ceremony dress to change into as well. Its just gonna be too hott! Especially if you are, like I plan to go party, dance, drink afterward. BUT I am going to keep my veil on! Here is my ceremony dress.. I havent found one to change into yet.. but I do love yours!!

Go for the BCBG dress! It is gorgeous. I agree with Shannon. Dresses in person are generally longer than in the picture (or that may be because I am 5’3″ and the models are 6′ tall)

Love your dress! Maybe I should get a veil to make it more bridal like… Currently I have nothing for my hair only these extensions because my hair is just a few inches past my shoulder: http://www.hothair.co.uk/jessica-simpson-21-human-hair-clip-in-hair-extensions.html
And that is totally what I am thinking… between dancing and drinking it might get a little bit too much to be in a big gown. Good luck with your hunt! 🙂

@kristen ya, I wasnt going to do a veil but I wanted that more of a BRIDE look so I just got a simple beaded edge 1 tier veil that Im gonna wear in the back of my hair it goes down to the top of my butt.

I am not engaged yet, but when I do I want a dress like the second one you posted, the BCBG one. I totally love that length and style! I don’t think bridal has to mean long or tea-length and if you’re going somewhere tropical you’ll be thankful for less fabric! There are tons of ways you can add a more bride-y feel to it if you felt that you wanted more oomph. Anyway… I heart that dress. I would totally rock it to my own wedding!

I love the detail at the top of the dress but think that the cut at the bottom is a little bit risky for a bride, maybe you could wear a short slip underneath it to cover up some thigh so it doesn’t look as skimpy?

I think it’s cute, but if I were in your place, my older family members would FLIP over short it is. How would your guests react?
