First of all, take a deep breath.  There’s always a solution with a little creative thinking and staying level headed.  Are there any villas in the area for rent where guests could stay?  Or are there hotels that aren’t as convenient but that you could rent a shuttle to transport guest to and from?

i feel for you. i was in a similar panic mode , it would keep me up at night! i’m getting married in Panama and wanted everyone to stay at the same hotel in the rainforest (no other hotels in that immediate area) and I only blocked 30 rooms, thinking I could always add on. as RSVPS and various people told me they were coming and I started doing the math, I called the hotel only to be told they were completely booked! I wanted to book a fancier suite for me and my fiance for the week and kept contacting my planner and several people at the hotel and they told me it would not be possible! finally i called a contact at the corporate headquarters of the hotel group and they managed to get it for me. i hounded my close family to book rooms asap and then i  emailed the rest of my guests to warn them the hotel was all booked and if the they couldn’t get in the room block we would work something else out, etc. some of them replied that they wouldn’t mind it if they had to stay at another hotel 30 mins away and tried to look at the postives…so i just had to tell myself to stay calm, accept i couldn’t control everyhting and hope for the best. so i know it can be very, very stressful – but hang in there!!! (in the end, the RSVPs keep fluctuating – now some people i thought were coming can’t anymore, so… so far the number of blocked rooms i had are still fine..and some people coming solo are sharing rooms with other solo travelers. etc)
