I thought I would share some pictures from my recent wedding showcasing only some of the details for any brides out there who may be looking for ideas. I know detail shots were so helpful to me when I was planning our wedding and I'm hoping to repay the favor.
Some notes... first, all photo credit goes to Georgi Anastasov from Philadelphia! He's amazing. I still find it hard to believe he fit within our budget. Second, almost everything you see was homemade. It was a labor of love to decorate the lanterns and jars, and to make ribbon wands, program fans, menus, bunting, jar decorations, fauxtobooth, and table runners but it was so worth it.
We made our own flower bouquets and corsages with a combination of super DIY and ordering online. I ordered the Billy Balls (craspedia) from Fifty Flowers online and we picked the rest. I found a flower farm in my area that would allow me to swoop in on Friday morning before my Saturday wedding with my bridal party and snip our own stems. Then we had to assemble. All the flowers we got, besides the Billy Balls, came to $45 total.
I had someone from etsy design the owl graphic that we used which allowed us to create our own invites (the map idea was inspired my Mrs. Lox and I replicated that in PowerPoint), program fans, menu cards, table numbers, place cards, signage, etc. This was extremely cost effective because the owl design was $20 and then I was able to do all the rest and print it from home. The exceptions were that the cards on our favors (jars of Nova Scotia maple syrup from my hometown) were printed by Moo, but the front was designed by me and the back had 1 of 12 engagement photos. The hanger for my dress was made by someone on etsy and purchased by my sister. An etsy seller also made my earrings, our cake topper and the bird nest. Invitiation supplies (most) came from Cards and Pockets online.
Anyway, enjoy the pictures! I hope this helps someone out there, somehow. I wouldn't have had nearly as wonderful a wedding if not for Weddingbee and so I would like to give back. I am happy to answer questions or private messages if anyone has any.

Yay!!! Those are my RSVP options too... did you get some good responses?
Gorgeous everything... really, I can't pick specifics to point out. Really nicely done!
Beautiful! I love that the lady owls are on the placecards for the females and the boy owls for the males. So cute!
WOW. Everything looks lovely. I love the upscale diy look and the colors are gorgeous. Good photographer!
OMG! Everything was beautiful but what really made me cry for joy? MINI-EGGS ON YOUR WEDDING CAKE! You're my hero!!! AHHH! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!!
wow everything looks amazing!!! so tasteful, well thought out and well executed. congrats!!!
I could not love this more - AMAZING wedding!!! I absolutely love the details!
Ok now I am officially in love! Congrats on an amazing wedding :)
I looooved it! So absolutely BEAUTIFUL! People usually look at me funny when I tell them I want a farm/county wedding!
It all looks so great! The sunset pictures are to die for! I love the details
freaking amazing. and perhaps a tad bit jealous! HAHA :D
it looked beautiful! thanks so much for sharing
Thank you, everyone, for the wonderful comments! I am so touched by your positive feedback.
@KristenGotMarried: We did get some lovely responses. I loved it when people picked one of the "off" options. One thing I was hoping for was having a number of people choose "regretfully attend" and that happened a lot. People were more likely to leave a personal note if they selected that option. ;)
@amw511s: That was so difficult (I was doing them in Microsoft Word in chart format) but it was so worth it! So glad someone noticed!
@FutureMrsRugbee: I LOVE MINI EGGS!! Hahaha. I explained to my baker friend, who made all of our desserts, that I would like to have frosting bird nests with eggs. We had extra eggs left over from the bag, so we put some around the cutting cake. :) That really "made" the cake.
whoa whoa whoa! Your DIY farm wedding is serisouly amazing. The details are so crisp and inviting! ME GUSTA!
May I ask what your ball park budget was and how many people attended?
Here are a few more pictures, for those interested in food details. I had some input for food displays, particularly for the outdoor cocktail hour. Using a number of trees, we were able to make risers and bread troughs. I also used small birch tree branches to detail each food item with its own place card, much like an escort card.

AMAZING! Looks like you had a beautiful day. Love the rain boots shot :)
@Eva Peron: Sure. Our budget was to come in under $10,000. We went over by about $500, but nothing we will complain about now. The additional money was what we had not factored in for an additional hour of photography (decided at the last minute we wanted 9 hours instead of 8) plus last minute rental of a tent due to the rain in the forecast. It ended up not raining, but it sure poured hard the day before! It has been calling for rain in the long range forecast so, when push came to shove, we went ahead with the tent.
98 people were invited and 76 attended. We had not initially counted on so many people, thinking we would get about 50-55 because it was a destination wedding for all in attendance with a 2 night minimum on cottages at the campground attached to the farm where we all stayed, but people were really into it. In order to accommodate so many "additional" people, we downscaled our rehearsal dinner (didn't matter) and DIY'd a few more things.
I realize that was a long winded answer to a short question, but I hope the explanation of thought process helped.
@canadianbacon: Perfection! Yes, that answers my questions. You guys did a great job and the over the budget was well justiifed ;)
Thank you! I had so much fun planning this wedding. I am glad some of the pictures captured some of my details.
You did a fabulous job in every respect! Love the repetition of the color scheme, love the green with the burlap, and the elevation and design of the food tables.
Beautifully done!
@julies1949: Thank you! I can't take full credit for the design of the food table. :) Our caterers really went above and beyond to fit within the theme. I am so grateful for their help in tying it all together.
Just to keep everything linked up...
