What details make up your wedding? What are the important details and what details are a must. I keep thinking that we're forgetting some details. I know we have about 5 months to go but I just want to make sure we have everything. We are about to book our florist, we have a dj, an officiant, videographer, photographer, favor ideas, I need to order our cake topper, I have talked to our hair stylist about her doing our hair that morning, i have my dress, the bridesmaid dresses are in, the guys know where they are going to go for tuxs, I still need to go with my mother and FMIL to find them something to wear. Im going to get a polariod guestbook and maybe some empty frames so they can fool around with those while taking pictures....so anything Im forgetting?

Wow, girl, you are waaaay ahead of me and my wedding is not that far behind yours. Congrats on being so organized and ahead of schedule.

Are you writing your own vows or selecting readings? Do you have a shot list for your photog and a play list and do not play list for your dj? These things are time consuming.

Have you found a caterer and baker?  Are you thinking about a DOC?  Are you doing anything for your centerpieces besides just flowers?  I.e., do you need to search for vases, candle holders, etc.?  What about any type of lighting for the reception?  Do you need to rent transportation for any parts of the evening?  I'm just throwing out some things to think about.

    Thanks AZbride

We will be selecting different readings and doing a sand ceremony...thanks for reminding me I guess I should get that together soon! Our photographers know us...friends of the family but I might make up a list. And we still have to give a list to the dj...pretty much just no rap! Thanks for the advice!

What do you still need to get together? What are your colors?

HEHE Thanks Mouse! Caterer and baker are with our venue...all in one and they also have a DOC to work with us...we got lucky with this find! I kept thinking about lighting but put it on the no list! Our florist is getting the vases and lemon slices as well...another great find! Anyone in the Philadelphia or Bensalem area Flower Girl Florist is a great place to check out! And we will be using our own cars...a big save there.

What about you mouse did guys use a limo or lighting I cant remember?

Well, my $$$ is held up so it's delaying me a bit. Also, our officiant backed out on us (weird story) so I need to find someone new.

I am doing a monochromatic red theme. I've seen pics of my venue with shiny - wrinkly red tablecloths and I want to do red roses and tulips - submerged for centerpieces with lots of candlelight. Hopefully black or natural chivari chairs. We will have strawberry martinis as a signature cocktail. Bouquets will be red roses, calla lilies, and tulips and possibly peonies if we can pick some up last minute. I'm DIYing the flowers and music.

I still need a photog, guestbook idea, readings, playlist, photo list, groom's attire. I'm not sure about my invites. I bought the Michael's Brides pocketfold b&W damask invites but having second thoughts.

AZ Bride Thats funny/weird that you say your having 2nd thoughts on your Michaels Brides invite...so am I! Im going to head over sometime next week to see if I can find other ones! Sorry to hear about your officiant. I love the tulips and roses submerged idea. Were using calla lilies too! Your wedding sounds beautiful with all the reds.

@ D. Marie.  No, the venue had excellent twinkly lights and lanterns, and we provided the soy candles.  We didn't get a limo either, but we used my mom's Prius as a getaway car.  The guests had to fend for themselves!  I wanted to provide transportation for them, but it just didn't seem practical.

I'm concerned that I am having a semi-formal wedding (although small 30-40 people) and the invites will not reflect the formality and people will think it's casual, when it is not. I am not doing a big poofy dress, but MOH is wearing a long dress and I want everyone dressed up in semi-formal or cocktail attire. Is this what you are worried about to? Can anyone else chime in and add you thoughts?

You're doing a great job!! We are also doing OOT boxes for people staying at the hotel (there are kind of a lot, one whole side of my family) and a candy buffet. You might want to start thinking about gifts for the wedding party and transportation (limo?).

AZBride Yeah my invites were just kinda of flimsy and didnt really reflect us and our wedding. I think there are more formal ones at Michaels so Im going to look again.

Mouse thanks! Twinkly lights and laterns sounds really romantic and what a great way to getaway that was nice of your mom. Yeah Im not big on limos and we have a mini van so I can bring myself and the girls with me and the boys can all go in my fiances car and their own cars. But i will be getting some cute "Just Married" stickers for the van!!

Fraggle i was thinking of OOT bags or boxes but we are doing a few favors for everyone so I think that were not going to do the OOT thing plus everyone who is OOT has been to Philly before and lives close.

AZBride i want to do a Bathroom basket too...what were you thinking of putting in it?
