Hi All!  First time poster, long time reader!!! :)  I <3 Weddingbee!!!

Anyways here's my first question for you all -

How are you ordering your Bridesmaids and Groomsmen for the ceremony?  I have 8 of EACH, and I'm struggling here.

If I go by height (tallest - shortest), it will look good, but it places my brother and his serious gf at the END of the line, which I don't think is good. (I can't do shortest-tallest because my MOH is the tallest!)

If I go in order of who is close to me, I may offend people...plus I personally don't want to order my girls by who I like best!

Should I match up people of similar heights?

How are you all figuring out your order???

Other than my MOH I am doing who I have known the longest. My middle sister is after my MOH, the my youngest sister is after her, then my SIL will be last. It ust made sense to me to do it that way. I'm not sure how to pair the guys up tho, because FI really wants his other brother to walk with FSIL as his older brother (FSIL husband) is his best man. We'll figure it out soon. I hope.

hmm that is tricky, it's so many people!

    I only have three BM's.

And I'm ordering them my sister (MOH), my best friend (honorary MOH) and my groom's sister. It kinda made sense like that.

but yeah your situation is tricky.

If you really don't mind how you do it, you could always just draw names haha. I mean that is a very small detail of the wedding that no one will really notice.

I 'm doing tallest to shortest because it worked out that way.  My MOH is tallest, and my little sis is second tallest.  His brother/best man is tallest and his other brother is second tallest.  We each have three other attendants that are close friends but neither is more important than the other so we didn't feel upset about lining them up by height.  I'm glad it worked out that way because I don't think my type a personality could handle anything else lol

I am doing them in order of my life, after my MOH it is my childhood next door neighbor, then my college friend, etc... My girls sort of tell the story of my life, as do his men...

Wow I started to thinking about how to pair people but not the order! Crap! Well I think we will do MOH and BM together first then probably our siblings/family - my brother and his twin, my younger brother and his older sister, his sister and his cousin, his cousin(girl) and his friend, my friend and his friend

I did it by how often I talk to people.  That's probably not the greatest way, but it worked for me.

i only have two on each side, so it's easy. moh and bm, and bridesmaid with groomsman (who are married).

    good luck!

I placed my bridesmaids in the order I've known them - sisters in place by age, and then friends in order after that (college roommate, postgrad friend, etc). It cleared up any confusion and avoided all heartache.

We are having 5 of each.. our best man and maid of honor just happen to be long time friends that are like honorary siblings in our families. Then we each have one sibling in the wedding, our oldest friends, our closest college friends, and our fabulous out of state friends.  We didn't plan our party that way, but I just realized one day that they have "categories" I don't know if that sounds weird or not, but anyways... As far as what order those pairs will walk in, I'm not sure.  I think that we will just figure it out on the fly.  I've never felt that I was "ranked" before when I was standing up in a wedding. Either I was MOH or wasn't... and then everyone else just walks whenever. Hopefully no one will be offended by your choice.

I have no idea either! I need to get everyone's height so I can figure it out. I have 6 on each side, so it will be hard to figure out!
