I live in the frozen tundra and today my dear hubby the teacher gets a snow day. In the 7 years I’ve been with my company, I’ve never had a snow day. Snow storm or not, we have to drive through it. I have to admit I’m a little jealous and want to stay home with him and our pup. So this is what the summer is going to feel like…
Can anyone else relate? Do you have teacher SOs? Let’s pout together.

I don’t have a teacher SO but a few friends are. It always irritates me in August when they whine about going back to school after months off. Must be nice!

You know, it’s funny. My husband is a music teacher and he NEVER gets snow days (if they do they have to make them up at the end of the year). However, I work at a clinic, and I have gotten more snow days this year than he has, lol. I’ve been released from work twice this winter, and he has had to stay at school. I guess I can kind of pout that we aren’t home at the same time on a snow day. That would be awesome.

@megz06: My FH Is on his last semester of Classes before he Student Teaches. I am a little jealous of all the breaks he will get! I am wanting to be a Nurse, so We definately will NOT have the same schedule, and I will have to work on snow days… Unless I get my dream job of school nurse lol

Spend a week in a teacher’s shoes and then come back and whine about snow days or time off. 🙂

I have never had a snow day. Not in school, college, and now at work it’s not a possibility (there’s a section on inclement weather in our employee handbook and it boils down to tough sh*t). And here’s the kicker… I live in Colorado! I grew up in the desert part of the state where it doesn’t snow much (but my little sister has had quite a few snow days in recent years). Then 4 years of college in an area where it snows much more than my hometown – nothing. Of course there was a snow day the first year after I graduated. My Darling Husband (then BF) and friends were all still in school and were conspiring to figure out how they could keep me from finding out that they had the day off. I’m jealous of all snow days!

@star_dust: I have a ton of respect for teachers and all they do. I am not whining about his time off. I’m just wishing I had a snow day with him.

My husband always pouts when I’m off and he isn’t. But it’s not always a plus, we have to make up that day in the scorching heat!
