Ugh that stinks, I’m sorry! That’s kinda why we went with titanium instead of tungsten.

I was looking into tungsten and I’ve read quite a few stories like yours- like if you just drop it on the ground, or your hand smacks the counter, it shatters 🙁 THAT’S RIDICULOUS!

We’re getting titanium, we really didn’t like the idea of tungsten shattering (FI does a lot of construction work that would really put him at a risk for breaking it all the time haha).
FI was even able to get a stripe of rose gold in there, because he really wanted rose gold (odd, but OK sure)

You could always go with high-quality silver. It’s inexpensive and while it may scratch, the cost savings helps to offest that factor (plus, scratches can be buffed out!)

And there are wood rings out there, they might not scratch (but don’t do terribly well with water)

I personally would vote “who cares about scratches” but obviously I am a notorious ring-scratcher-upper. 😀

I’m so sorry this happened to you! My FI works construction and we were told not to get a tugsen or colbalt for that reason.  We didn’t inquire about titanium, but my FI chose a white gold ring with a hammered finish to disguise scratches.  We were also told that scratches cold be polished out of white gold and he could eventually get the ring replated too.

@SimplyEuphoric:  I love this ring!  This is the style I wanted my DH to get, but he wasn’t keen on it.
