@veryberry13:  Neither of us care for sports. I used to be involved in the MMA world but not anymore.

Well as a lifelong STL Cardinals fan, I have to say Boo Pirates! They are going down tomorrow! lol jk

FI and I both are Cardinal and Rams fans as well as Illinois fans. FI has been a die hard Illini fan all his life and I was a fan but not crazy about it. Well I ended up going to University of Illinois and am now a die hard fan with him! FI and I went to high school together where he played football and I cheered, I think I like football more than he does!

I’m a Lions fan, FI roots for the Packers.

Let’s just say this weekend will be very interesting!  (I get WAY more competitive and into the games than he does, lol)

I grew up about an hour north of Boston, so I’ve always LOVED all Boston teams – especially the Red Sox (WORST TO FIRST, BABY!). SO is from CT, but the only sport he really cares about is football – and luckily, he’s a Patriots fan. I always rooted for the Patriots, but I didn’t really understand football all that well until I started dating SO. Now I’m more into the games than he is! But hey, it’s not hard to love a team with a quarterback like Tom Brady (who is the one & only celebrity on my “list”).

I never really cared much about basketball or hockey, but SO and I both root for the Bruins and Celtics when we do watch.

SO likes the Red Sox, but is a Washington Nationals fan first and foremost. I like to say the Nats are my favorite NL team, but the Sox will always come first, so that’s the only point where we disagree. But it never really matters since they only play each other every few years or so.

We already had the same favorite team so it wasn’t really a problem.

However if it was a sport I didn’t care about and he had a favorite team and I had no interest…well then I suppose I would cheer for them.

I don’t think I could have dated/married a rival fan but if I did I definitely wouldn’t cheer for them.  In fact…everyone I dated was either a big fan of my team or didn’t care at all about sports (those ones didn’t seem to work well either because I tend to be obsessive about it and they just end up thinking I’m nuts).

FI and I are both from Wisconsin so we obviously root for the Packers. He roots for a non-Wisconsin hockey team, but isn’t that into it so I can’t remember which team it is. We don’t watch much in the way of sports these days. We refuse to pay for cable and our antenna is frequently interupted by passing trains (we live near a train yard) so we basically watch DVDs, Bluerays, and Netflix.

@veryberry13:  Hell no. Even though we’re both from Florida, my boyfriend is a Buccaneers fan, and I’m a 49ers fan. If I had to choose a Florida team, I guess I would choose the Buccs.

We grew up in the same area and also attended the same university so we already cheered for all of the same sports teams! We’re pretty competitive though so we would probably cheer against each others teams if we didn’t already cheer for the same teams (all in good fun of course)!

@veryberry13:  I’ve said to FI many times that I am so happy we both root for the Redskins. Watching football together is one of my favorite things to do, and if we liked rival teams, I don’t think I would enjoy it as much. We were both Redskins fans prior to meeting.

My FI’s teams are his hometown teams and my teams are my hometown teams and neither of us would even consider switching. We’re pretty much diehard fans but because we’re from different parts of the country, we’re not in the same conferences so we can be pretty neutral during each other’s games. For baseball, he’s a fan of the team here where we live so that makes us rivals and it’s pretty funny.

For college, he went to a huge state university and I went to a private college and we’re in different conferences so I’ll cheer for his school and wear gear, that’s kind of fun because that wasn’t my college experience. But my professional teams? No way!

We like different college teams but we root for each other’s unless they’re playing against each other.  We both like the same NFL team (go Carolina Panthers!)

My husband is beyond a big sports fan… it’s absolutely insane the amount of passion he has for sports. I was always a “fan” of the Cleveland Browns, Cavs & Indians, but would never sit down and watch a game alone, or buy a hoodie to wear. But now I do all that! I even allowed him to paint our basement/Man Cave brown & orange. I never cared about college basketball, now he’s got me & my parents hooked on the brackets! He dislikes OSU football for some reason, and it’s rubbed off on me.. he loves Notre Dame, I have a ND shirt.. and tonight the Indians are playing for the Wildcard spot, GOOOOO TRIBE!
