So for the last couple months, I’ve been trying to convince the dh to start TTC in about 6 months. I’ve tried to convince him from reassuring him about money and childcare to almost everything. I was beginning to give up and stop asking. I thought i should give it a rest for a year or so. Until yesterday, he brought it up! He said that he’s been thinking and he just realizes that we should start by the end of the summer. He completely caught me off guard. Wanna know what got him to change his mind?
He realized that he will be close to 40 when our kid is 10. That’s what changed his mind.
Yay!! I didn’t think this day would come! It’s a new day! My outlook on life has changed. Can’t wait til we TTC! What made you or your SO decide you were ready for kids?

CONGRATS! feels so great when you’re on the same page 🙂 we always wanted to be parents, but once we got married, both started careers that we actually enjoy, bought a house, and felt like we had our lives pretty under control, we were tired of waiting!

I wanted to have a honeymoon baby but hubby back then wanted to wait. It took him awhile to figure out a TTC date he was comfortable with – although he definitely wants kids and even wanted them before I realized I did. The original date was supposed to be for this coming Valentine’s Day. I’m not exactly sure what happened but in Nov we started NTNT and ever since he’s been really into it! I have no idea why or how and I’m really surprised!
I think all the real facts about conception finally kicked in with him! What’s really great is I’ve never had to initiate anything, all I have been doing is talking about my wanting to chart and how many days after ovulation I am and for some reason this he’s taking my cues without even really asking. I’m really, really hoping he continues this because it all seems natural!
Maybe watching “How I Met Your Mother” and their TTC talk has something to do with it? Whatever it is, I sure am happy because of it!

Too funny! My FI always uses how old he will be at our kids 21st birthdays… Also he still plays golf with his dad and wants to be able to do that with our kids (goodness I hope we have a boy!)
