What's the diamond dash? And like CorgiTales - sounds like something I want to participate in!
Let's bet what it is: I bet it's a couple marathon and the 1st place winners get a diamond? Or maybe someone hides a diamond in a park and then sets all these couples loose to find it and whoever finds it gets to keep it?

We got an email today saying that there are 250 teams in it! That means 500 people!!
It's pretty intense.
I'm really excited Cam signed us up and all ... but I wish i knew how to promise I would win that $15,000 diamond ring.
I can just imagine...
FUN! I did one in Iowa last fall- we actually got engaged after it! I did lots of pre-research on the webs about other diamond dashs, I think they're all run by the same company. I had maps at the ready the day of and bikes, definitely if you want to be competitive you have to bike! PM me if you have any specific questions- we got hung up on one or two and didn't get close to winning but it was SO MUCH fun and really great to work together as a team.
OMG!! I soooo want to do one! How do you find out if there's one in a city near where you live??
My other comment with things like this is to always consider taxes!! If something you win is 600$ or more you will pay taxes on it. The couple that won mine told a story about how they couldn't afford their own diamond which is why they wanted this one.. and I hope someone told them they'd be getting a huge bill come April :(
This is soooo ironic! i was JUST at Van Scoy in lancaster THIS MORNING picking out my (hopefully) future engagement ring! The sales associate told me about the diamond dash but unfortunately, i'm out of town this weekend, so i will miss it. I did, however, try on the ring they are giving away to see how it would look on me!! :) :) :)
It's princess cut...beautiful...the size is over a carat for the stone, i believe; band is a thin band of diamonds. Very nice. Hope one of you girls gets to participate in this event!
They're having one in Pittsburgh in a could of weeks too!

@pooks75 - that's sad you won't be joining us ... but that means I won't be knocking any bees over the head (haha, jk) in an effort to win! Is the ring gorgeous? I won't be able to try it on/see it until the event since I live and work in Chester County. Sad sad day. Apparently we can get a clue if we go there, too - so Cam's going to stop in on Friday for us. Here we goooo!
@scg00387- taxes definitely need to be thought of ... but I'll have the ring first! We've talked about it ... we're prepared for April's bill ... because I'll be waiting until then if we don't win anyway, it seems.
@JenniRae - do you know anyone competing? Pretty cool!
Ahh! I am doing the Diamond Dash in Lancaster tomorrow also! It should be great fun, even if we don't win. I watched tons of videos of other dashes they did in other states. Good Luck!
Did you guys have fun at the Lancaster dash?? All of these diamond dashes are run by a company called SCVNGR. I work for SCVNGR and put on these awesome events every week. So glad to see all of the interest on the message board! Keep your ears open because we do a lot more than diamond dashes. We also do dashes for a new car and even a downpayment on a new house....pretty awesome!
Well, DiamondDasher, hopefully I'll get to do a scavenger hunt with SCVNGR eventually but Cam and I ended up not doing the dash ... makes me sad ... but such is life!
Hi Everybody!!!
Im doing a diamond dash in a week, and I REALLY want to win!!!! My bf is going to propose then Im sure, and I really would like such a beautiful diamond. and what a story for our grandkids! For those of you who have done the race before, could any of you tell me what to expect? What kinds of clues did they give? Did you have to do them in a particular order? Were there bottlenecks to compete for clues? Any tips for winning? Id love any info at all, as I really would love to be engaged next!!!
