@Boxerlover24:  This happened to me! I have a delicate setting so I was advised to take it off when doing any cleaning, working out, etc. They were great about it, they replaced the stone, tightened the rest of the setting/prongs and dipped it for $70!

@Boxerlover24:  Yes! This happened to me after having my ring for only 19 days 🙁 It’s been gone for 2 weeks now getting fixed. I lost  a pave stone out of the band. It was missing when I woke up in the morning. So bummed out 🙁 Sorry about your ring!

Melee falls out quite often. :/ You just gotta be extra careful. How are they set? Micropave? Or with tiny prongs?

No, if they’re prongs, it’s not as easy as micropave, where the diamonds are literally held together with tension of the other diamonds.

Just bring it to your jeweler. I’m sure they’ll replace it no problem, either free or for very little money. I got 2 melee replaced on one of my rings for $5 by a setter that didn’t sell me my ring.

I have a halo and only have had it since may and already have lost a small stone and my center came loose. My jeweler assured me they’d replace my small stones for me because its not uncommon to lose the small ones. It’s such a bummer to lose them. I hope your jeweler will take care of you.

@Boxerlover24:  Ugh yeah it sucks. Most people haven’t even seen my ring in person yet, so they’re like “wait what happened to it!?” It’s been gone for 2 weeks… they said it should be done this week, we’ll see

I had mine for about 4 months when one fell out. We got it “fixed” only for the diamond to fall out 2 more times after that! The lady at Zales was super nice and apologetic and found the exact replacement. I just felt so naked without it!

@Boxerlover24:  I’m so sorry this happened to you 🙁

We had ordered a halo setting- and I changed the order after it was replaced.  While of course I try to be careful, I use my hands, have a five year old, etc….  I was too scared I’d have to have tiny stones replaced often.  It’s too bad because I think halos are so pretty.

I ended up going bezel- which I am SO grateful I did.  I have a beautiful diamond that’s incredibly sprakly (I only say this because people always say bezels sparkle less- mine has a completely open gallery)- I wear so many knit sweaters, etc- I still get my bezel caught slightly once in a blue moon!!

I hope you get your ring back fast!

I had the same thing happen to me! One of the small diamonds fell out only about three months after we got engaged! I think it happened because the ring needed to be resized, it was too big, and so when it twisted around my finger it would catch on to things, loosening the prongs, and losing the diamond. 🙁 I would say to get your prongs checked, which is what you should do every so now and then anyway to make sure they’re not too loose and it doesn’t happen in the future. I took my ring to a jeweler, and that’s a strange story in itself. He took way too long to do the simple job that I requested, which was replacing the stone, resizing the ring, and checking the prongs, so finally after about three weeks to a month later, my ring is ready (or so it was supposed to be.) My fiance (who is now my husband) went with me to pick up the ring. For some reason I didn’t look at it too closely and finally did once we were on our way home. Alas, there was no diamond in the spot where it was missing! My fiance turned around and we went right back, and I waited in the car while he went to speak to the jeweler. The jeweler made excuses and was pretending that it must have just fell out and was searching around for it and was drilling in the seat. If he really put a diamond in there before, then why would he be redrilling it? He made some statement about how it would be hard to do because of the way it’s designed or something like that, (really, I think any jeweler should be able to do it or they shouldn’t be in business!) and he went on to make some comment about how my ring was made in China ust because my fiance said he ordered it!!! That made him mad to be sure. He ordered it from a jewelry shop by a lady who handcrafts her own jewelry and happened to have an internet website, and somehow the jeweler thought buying it online meant it was made in China. Oh well. We didn’t go back to him, and the ring isn’t fixed yet. Thankfully it’s not that noticeble though and that it wasn’t the main stone that fell out!! So yeah, I don’t think it’s that uncommon to lose a diamond, the prongs just have to be tightened.

Same 🙁

I had my first diamond fall out after 3 weeks. Then in the same week I had a total of 3 diamonds fall out. Then in 6 months I had a total of 5 diamonds fall out. They ordered me a new ring… after waiting 2 months the wrong ring came. I was so upset (there is a giganticly long stressful story that goes with this on my profile) that when they offered me my money back I took it and went elsewhere.

We got a new ring 3 weeks ago. A diamond just fell out of my brand new ring 🙁 I called and apparently the store i’m at now has to send it away… and it’ll take 3 weeks.

Clearly rings with tiny diamonds all around are prone to this. So upsetting.

I’ve had this exact same issue as well! There were no problems with my ring for about 8 months, then I noticed that one of the smaller diamonds on my band was missing (I have a square halo ring).  The jeweller was very apologetic and fixed it within a week, for no charge.  Then, two weeks ago, I noticed another stone was missing and was extremely upset.  Luckily I was off of work and could go straight to the jeweller.  He offered to fix it in a day, but when I picked it up, he said if it happens again he’ll need to complete reset the ring.  I wanted to get a matching band, but now I’m really concerned about having this type of setting and dealing with this issue on two rings. So frustrating!
