Some friends and I were talking about our rings, and I took few short videos of them all together on my finger. Thought this might be useful to people who want a real life comparison of moissanites and diamonds, there were hardly any comparison videos when I was looking to buy. Also might be fun for Bees to see if they can tell the different gemstones apart! So here you go, videos taken outdoors in natural light.
Featured in the video are moissanite, diamond, and CZ gemstones. Any guesses which is which?
A longer video, same rings:
ETA: Hmm I tried to embed the video but don’t know how to make it work . . . if anyone knows please feel free!

The smaller stone on top is the moissanite. But an average person who is not ring obsessed probably couldn’t tell the difference. I can tell by the cut but in this video the moissanite looks whiter than the diamond! I’m guessing the very top ring is the cz? I couldn’t get a good look.

The biggest ring has the most color, so I would guess that one is a moissanite? Can’t really see the top ring at all.
I’d guess the bottom one is the moissy, middle is diamond, and top is CZ.

Left to right I guess: Moissy, Diamond, CZ.
The first stone looks green-ish, second one looks very crisp and steel-y and the third one looks hazy white to me.

I say the inner most ring (the largest center stone) is a moissy, due to it’s color…but it could very well be a diamond too in color J+. I think the middle is the diamond and the upper most towards the nail the CZ. Please dont take offense if i’m totally wrong. Needless to say, it’s tough to tell 🙂

valintine: can we have the answer? Please I’m dying to know !

I’d say from left to right… Moissy, CZ, Diamond
Post # 9
The bottom is diamond. The middle one it’s hard to see the facets so I’m going with moisy. The top is super white, so I vote cz.

Jenny905: yay someone that agrees with me!

They look pretty much the same to me. I think the biggest one is the moissy, then diamond, then CZ.

mrssloan2013: I used to have a moissy, you never forget the way it’s cut! The fuzzy facets and then suddenly sharp facets when the camera is on it straight-on is the giveaway. The big one, no matter what angle, as long as you can see through the table hast sharp facets. Since it’s also throwing off a lot of color compared to the one above her knuckle, it has to be the diamond.

valintine: My guess is moissy, diamond, CZ (from the base of your finger to the tip). It’s really hard to see the ring closest to you finger tip, so I don’t know of this video gives us enough information to really guess. Is there a photo that can be included too?

Moissanite, diamond, cz is my guess from left to right.

Ok I was a being cheeky because the CZ in the video is on the eternity band! I meant to update that sooner but I got busy! The gemstones in the other 3 rings are each either diamond or moissanite.
Here’s another video, this one showing the profiles more clearly:
And a slightly longer version:
TheLadyA : I didn’t take any photos, sorry!
Bridey77: Yes in real life they look pretty much the same to my friends & me as well, haha (except for a few tiny differences which I had to point out).
mrssloan2013: Hehe I feel like I should give more people a chance to guess before giving away the answer! Shall I pm you?
AquariusLove: I hope nobody could be offended by what you said, right or wrong, oh my goodness how silly would that be! I guess sometimes people do get touchy about their rings but this post is just for fun, and maybe something useful for other people when deciding on a gemstone!
