The craziest thing happend after work today! I was shopping today and I came upon a lady crawling down on her hands and knees in the coat section with a look of utter panick on her face. At first I just figured she was a weirdo, then as she crawled past me I finally asked her if she lost something and she just stopped, looked me in the eye and whispered ” the 2carat diamond that my husband just bought me2 has popped out of my ring and I can’t find it”! Cut to the next scene and I too am on all fours looking for this crazy expensive diamond for this poor women. She indicated that she felt it catch on something by this beige trench coat rack and I walked over (sore knees) to look and I was just about to suggest we get a store employee over to help, then for whatever reason I took off my shoes and look at the sole. AND THERE”S THE FRIKKEN DIAMOND stuck between the grips on my shoe! I could haver shrugged and said I couldn’t find it and litterally walked away with this woman’s diamond stuck to the bottom of my feet! She was so happy she offered to buy the sweater I had in my arms, but I told her not to worry about it, I was glad we found it!
Having just got engaged, I can’t imagine losing a diamond from my ring (even though I have a moissy)!! Have you ladies lost a stone? And did you find it after?

Oh wow, that sounds like something straight out of a sitcom! Thank goodness you decided to take off your shoe!
Heck, I have a peridot and I can’t imagine it either! I misplaced my entire ring for a few hours once but my stone has never fallen out (knock on wood). It’s a solitaire, so at least there’s only one to worry about!

Wow. That’s so crazy. Yay for finding the diamond!

@Regina Phalange: I know! And I could have stepped on it before I finally asked why she was crawling around the store like a crazy person, lol. Keep and eye on your stones ladies!

@nambi_pambi: She’s so lucky you found it. And good thing it was a diamond! If it were a much softer stone, I’d imagine it would have gotten scratched up from being walked on!

That story is craaazzzy!!! Lucky lady that you A) stopped B) helped and C) checked out the bottom of your shoes!!
I lost my old e-ring once, and tossed my ENTIRE room searching for it. After 8 hours I still hadn’t found it yet, and then I decided to look through one of the purses sitting next to me (that I had already looked through, twice). and LOW AND BEHOLD…MY RING WAS SITTING IN IT. But I swear It wasn’t there the last 2 times I had looked through that purse. It was nuts.
I also lost a center stone on an hierloom ring, but despite searching for it up and down the road (we had been walking the dog), I never found it. Still am heartbroken over that one.

Oh my goodness, I clicked in here thinking this was a seriously extravagant, “I’m a princess and I must have…” topic! What a funny story!

TO @nambi_pambi: first and foremost, you are a SAINT for being such an honest person.
Trust me Karma will catch up with you on this one… and shine her light upon you !!
What an incredible story… thanks for sharing.
As for myself, I have an Opal Ring that means the world to me… opals are a very soft stone… my opal chipped somehow (knocked it, caught on something… whatever)… and it fell out of my ring. I didn’t notice it until I got home from work and looked down at my ring making dinner… I was devastated.
I did a quick look around the house… but alas no opal.
I had pretty much given up, thinking back that I had lost it anywhere between lunch time (at work) and home… oodles of places I’d been over the course of those 6 hours.
Next day, I walked into my office. And as I was settling into my morning routine… voila, there she was sparkling on the dark carpet. Incredible, because opals don’t sparkle a whole lot… never mind the fact that the office cleaners had somehow not vacuumed my area overnight !!
I picked her up, and the jeweller took my chipped stone as a trade in for a new stone… and fixed my ring.
Good ending to something that had otherwise upset me quite a bit.
I don’t worry quite so much about my ERing & WBand… but it does cross my mind. Mr TTR is a lot calmer than I… he just shrugs and says “that is what we have insurance for”… I tho am the sentimental one… so I’d be heart-broken if a diamond was to fall out of my ring.
Lol, and I don’t have anything near the 2 carat “shoe stopper” that you found !!

Wow! Poor lady, I would have had a hear attack. I once managed to accientally shoot a ring off the deck at a bar and spent like 20 minutes looking for it. And that was just gold, no stones, but had sentimental value because it was my grandmas.
So glad you found it! it was really kind of you to help her!

@Regina Phalange: It sounds like something out of Seinfeld or Friends! Oh or I Love Lucy! Imagine Lucy making Ethel look for her diamond before Ricky comes home to take her out for their anniversary dinner and they can’t find it (because Ricky already has found it!) and so she uses a fake one and pretends everything is fine at dinner and Ricky talks about how he proposed to her with that ring and asks to take a closer look at it, but Lucy gets weird about it. Fast forward, he guilt trips her, let’s her know he found it, she says, “You knew this whole time and you let me be worried sick!” he laughs, they kiss, and the episode ends.
Did I really just make up an entire scenario?! lol I need to sleep. I apologize!

@CestTresJolie14: I thought I had missed an episode until you said you made it up. Love it! (And love Lucy, of course.)
