Did anyone else go the cheap route in getting a veil?

I bought a $20 veil from etsy and it looks fine in our pictures. Just make sure you read reviews before purchasing a cheap veil- I steered clear of a few sellers on esty and ebay because reviews said the veils didn’t look good in pictures. I ended up misplacing my veil after the ceremony so I’m glad I didn’t spend a lot on it!

Im either using my moms veil, so that’s free, or one off etsy that is $40. Definitely didn’t want to spend a whole bunch. I also wanted a long veil and they were quoting me 3-400. Uhhh are you nuts?!

The ones I liked were well over $100 so I made my own, looks exactly the way I wanted and it cost about $40 total.

Waitingbee57:  i think my sister bought that veil for her wedding and then i used it for mine a year later. We both wore it for about two hours, one for photos and one for the ceremony give or take. Then back to the bridal suite it went. If you are only wearing it for your fiancee, no need to spend a bunch.

Agree with PP on checking out Etsy. Definitely read reviews before you buy. What about a fascinator or birdcage veil?

I’m not doing a veil, I’ll be wearing a large flower in my hair.

Waitingbee57:  I made my veil for $15. It was super easy. Just get a really sharp rotary cutter and buy the softest tulle you can find. Mine was $1 a yard. The metal hair comb was $6.

Bought a $10 veil off ebay just to see what it was like. Ended up using it.

Waitingbee57:  I bought a £2.99 bandeau birdcage veil from ebay it looks great. The ones i was originally looking at were over £30 which i wasn’t prepared to pay for a bit of net. So all in all my veil and my feather hair clip cost £7.99.

Shoot yeah! $30 from lightinthebox. Cathedral length, lovely lace trim. I just couldn’t get behind spending a bunch of money on a big piece of tulle.

Yep, 20 bucks off etsy. It was simple and beautiful. No regrets.
