- Wedding: May 2012
I feel like any date my Fiance and I have come up with has had huge red flags. We originally wanted to do the first week of November 2011-I want an outdoor wedding and the first week of November here is usually perfect weather and the leaves are changing. Our wedding is going to be small and simple, so I wasn’t worried about only having a few months to plan. The red flag? My dress is supposed to be shipped October 17th, and that scares the crap out of me. That gives us only a 3 week buffer.
The next date, and the current one, is May 2012. My Fiance and I are in graduate school and will both finish this May, so I like the idea of having something amazing to look forward to while I’m writing a thesis. This also means I’m planning a wedding during the busiest year of my life. Also, May is generally pretty hot and humid here and the rainiest month.
Next fall is the 3rd option. The big red flag here is I’m out on the job market next summer and I’m very pessimistic about the job outlook for my degree. I’m nervous that when (hopefully!) I get a job, I will be too new to take time off for a wedding/honeymoon in the fall.
My Fiance will be starting a new grad program next fall and I’m hoping to be married by then so I can piggyback onto his health insurance in case I can’t find a job. I have a preexisting condition, so it’s really important that I don’t go uninsured.
Anyone else not seem to be able to choose a date? I feel all of my options are bad ones!
