I want a somewhat elaborate tattoo on my foot, and I’m debating if I want to wait until after the wedding to get it or not.
I have three tattoos now, one on my foot (I’m planning on covering this one with the one I want), one on my hip, and one on my upper back.
I’m going to Mexico for 10 days after the wedding so the only reason I can think of not to do it right before is because it can’t be submerged in water (and I will be submerged many a time in Me-hee-co!). So as long as I do it about a month before I’d be OK with that right?
FYI it’s not related to my FH or wedding..it’s just a tattoo that I want 🙂 I wanted to get it as a reward for my weight loss and it so happens the timing is right along with my upcoming wedding. Also, I don’t really care if it’s visible or not as my back one will definitely be. Plus it’s on my foot so even if that wasn’t a concern, it wouldn’t show much.
Any thoughts? Did any bees get a tattoo around the time of your wedding? How’d it work out?

Skittles131: Everybody heals differently. It truly depends on the amount of ink used. You stated it was a cover up, depending on the size, they tend to be a heavier tattoo. Personally I would wait til after the wedding. I got a tat on my foot and ended up in Conroe shortly after. (Lake, pool and hot tub), needless to say my tattoo never healed correctly and now I will have to get it redone. If they are re-tattooing scar tissue, it might be a longer healing process…

How long did it take your other tats to completely heal? Honestly, I’d get it sooner rather than later just to make sure it’s completely healed by the time you go to Mexico. Otherwise, wait until you get back.

HonoraryNerd: my other ones didn’t take much time at all to heal so I don’t think that would be a big issue. Good point!

I really want to get another before the wedding but there’s no time to fit me in 🙁 soooo, I will be getting mine the day after I get married! I say go for it, if you really want it now! My last tat barely even scabbed and was healed within a week or two.
