Did anyone leave their sweetheart table simple compared to rest of reception?

ALSWM: I think you’re fine. My sweetheart table was very simple. Primarily because it was so small that there was essentially just room for our place settings, a candle and our table number (which was actually a framed photo of us kissing). If I had thought to use slightly fancier linens (as you’re doing), I guess that would have been a nice touch as well. Also, the verypoint of a sweetheart table is to designate the bride and groom. I’m pretty sure people will figure out who you are without signs 🙂

ALSWM:  Our table was very simple. We had a cute loveseat chair that we shared and a banner strung behind it that said “Mr. & Mrs. LastName.” But the table just had a runner and some candles. Sorry for the bad pic.

Also, it was nice for the pictures. Nothing blocking our faces. And we had room to eat our dinner.

ALSWM:  Ours was pretty simple. No big flower arrangements, just rose petals and candles. I think you’re fine! We did Mr and Mrs pillows on the chairs that we moved to our lounge furniture after cocktail hour when we were sitting there. They were just to add a little touch but definitely unecessary. Most guests didn’t even notice them, but thought it was cute when the saw the picture.

kimmo416:  I am in LOVE with your sweetheart table! So beautiful! I want one REAL bad, but our venue is too small for a formal sitdown for everyone, so instead we’re having an appetizer reception, so no sweetheart table for me. 🙁 Wahh… Anyone, yours is georg!

ALSWM:  I think if your sweetheart table is simple that would be beautiful! They’ll be so much going on, and like PP said, it’ll be easier for pictures; nothing covering your face.

ALSWM:  I think having a simple sweetheart table will look beautiful!  For the reasons you listed, we didn’t do too much with ours either.  The only decor item I bought for it was a “Just Married” banner we draped in front of the table.  My event manager spruced it up for us using extra votives we had on hand, and she re-used our ceremony flowers and lanterns.  I loved it!

It’s not the best photo, but it’s the only I have of our sweetheart table.

we didn’t do anything on our chairs or any special floral arrangements on ours. just an overlay, some candles, and a just married sign.

ALSWM:  Don’t forget that you can use your bouquet as a centerpiece on your sweetheart table.  That is what my daughter used.  I made an initial sign and she had a few candles. The fish were the first thing I bought after her engagement announcement because they met on plenty of fish.
