I’m not engaged, but his mom subtely asked me if I was a “pick your ring” kind of person.. the answer is NO!

I love complete surprises way too much!

I even refuse to go in a jewelry store with him.

I want to see what he picks out! Surprise me πŸ™‚

I’m also not too picky. In the end it’s really about the commitment and not the stone!

I was not allowed any say in my ring. I didn’t know so many women picked their own rings either until I came here. I of course offered my Darling Husband plenty of suggestions that he wouldn’t even glance at. He did good though πŸ™‚

Me!!! I had nooo clue he was even thinking of proposing! He did a fantastic job picking the ring by himself, I always wanted a set and he somehow read my mind and got me a set πŸ˜€ Here’s my precious!

I didn’t pick mine, but Ellie was so nervous about “getting it wrong” we discussed a lot and tried on rings so she ahd an idea of waht I liked. She did a perfect job too!

I didn’t pick out my ring. We went looking together a few times so he knew what I liked and didn’t like so much. Just hours before he proposed I started gushing about how I wanted a halo and not a split shank anymore! I also said I’d trade him for a Harry Winston… lol.

About 6 hours later he surprised me with this baby.

I gave Fiance pages and pages of what I thought I wanted. He showed me some pictures he thought fit the descriptions, and I didn’t like any of them. So he went off and did whatever he wanted. It worked out though.

I didn’t pick mine either, it was a complete surprise, we’d never even talked about rings!  He did good though πŸ™‚  It actually is very similar to yours OP!

Nope did not choose mine, but was clear that i wanted a sapphire. He surprised me by proposing on the beach while on vacation on our 5th year anniversary. Moved me to tears.

I will not be picking mine out.  I cant wait to see what he chooses!!  We went shopping last weekend so i could try some on, and give him ideas.  He said it was very helpful and that i was not to mention it again LOL.

We had discussed rings in passing (mainly because I helped him sell his ex-fiance’s ring), and my fiance knew I really liked the cushion cut solitaires but I also liked the halo rings with small diamonds around the band….so when he went to do his shopping he combined the two…

I was so proud of him, because my one complaint about halo rings is the halo tends to camoflage the main stone, so he found this raised setting that still keeps the halo look, but allows the cushion cut to shine on its own
