FI and I have been thinking about colour schemes and our favourites so far are purple/yellow and red/pink/orange. Neither of those feels exactly right to us – but what about putting them together?!
Last night I suggested using purple and yellow as our main colours and then using pops of red, pink and orange in the flowers and centrepieces to bring out more brightness. FI thought this was a good idea. PLUS it means I get hot pink in there which I would love have but I don’t think FI would like it as a “main colour”. I’m curious to know whether the bees think this would work well?
I want our wedding to feel joyful, vibrant and fun, but not be too crazy with the brightness!
I found some inspiration photos on Pinterest – I’m thinking purple bridesmaids dresses with bright bouquets.
This is my main inspiration – a bouquet with purple, yellow, red pink and orange!

And here is a purple/yellow moodboard:
Plus these colours!:
What do you think bees? Will it work? I am feeling really good about it but would like some unbiased opinions. Thank you!

I think that’s pretty. They’re all vibrant, and the same tone.

I think that sounds/looks great. Personally I don’t like the idea of just having two colours for EVERYTHING in a wedding… it just looks so typical and boring! I like that you’ve added more dimension with the other bright colours 🙂

@pennylou13: Thank you! I just showed FI’s mum and his aunt and they liked it so I think I could be on to a good thing.

DH and I had a primarily silver/navy wedding in August, but used bright colours (pink, yeloow, green, orange, etc.) in the florals, and a few other spots in the decor (e.g glow stick send-off, my girls’ shoes, food choices–pink for kids meal, etc.). I think your palette will be beautiful!

They’re all warm colors so I think they definitely go well together, You’ll have to make sure you get a good balance so it’s not overwhelming, but I think it could definitely work! 🙂

@cupcakebride2013: Thanks for your comments. We have a little while to decide so I’ll see if we still love the idea in a month or so! Yes I would definitely need to be careful not to throw too much colour around, but I’m hopeful that if done tastefully it will work 🙂
