I haven’t used one personally, but plan to.  My sister and her husband did for their honeymoon in Bora Bora and it seemed to work out great. I bought them a bottle of champagne with breakfast and they were able to split up “big ticket items” like say, a dive trip with the dolphins for $200. into four seperate payments so that people could either pay $50 towards it or $100 or the whole thing if they wanted.  If you don’t need to or want to register at the typical places and have some things you would like to do on your honeymoon that isn’t included in your package or know you won’t be able to afford, it might be a good idea!

I signed up with Honeyfund.com. They don’t charge a fee to create one (although I did pay $29 to upgrade so I could put pictures on mine), but there’s a 3% fee for each gift through Paypal. I did a lot of research and that was the lowest I could find – most charge 7 to 10%.

I’m using Honeyfund (non-premium) version.  Free to set up and completely free if guests give you a check or cash at shower/wedding, or 3% fee to pay you through paypal.  It was the best option I thought.

We loved setting up our registry with Traveler’s Joy honeymoon registry. Their fee is 7% but they don’t have advertising on our registry page (Honeyfund does), they have a toll free # to call if any questions or friends want to give a gift over the phone (Honeyfund does not), and they accept credit cards (Honeyfund does not unless you set something up with PayPal and pay 4%).  We’ve also had many compliments on our registry page! I think if you are a pro at PayPal and don’t mind waiting for checks and cash to be sent in the mail of given at the wedding – Honeyfund will work but the advertising on our page was so annoying we disabled our page.

I used Honeyfund.com and upgraded to the premium version as well.  I signed up for all the sites to see how they worked but I liked honeyfund the best especially since the fee is only 3% and only on the gifts people use credit cards for.  So far it is going over really well, more than half our items have already been bought.  It was great for our wedding shower, most people just selected the item & selected cash, then printed out the certificate and put it in a card along with cash or a check.  So for all those items we didn’t get charged any fee’s.  I’m really happy we did it and can’t wait to experience all the great stuff people bought for us!

I’m currently using Honeyfund – free and easy to set up. I haven’t had anyone purchase from that registry yet, though.

We did Honey Fund but chose to not allow people to use paypal so we didn’t lose 3% of the money. I paid the $29 to upgrade so it looked pretty. It was easy to use and we got quite a few gifts from it.

We are using http://www.depositagift.com  They let you choose who pays the fee and its fully run with credit cards (no PayPal, it actually processes gifts just like a regular online store does, which we felt was nicer for guests) and they have a customer service number. It’s been working great. And I highly recommend their customer service — they are beyond responsive, pay immediately and even helped me with setup. Another big plus is that you can register for more than just your honeymoon, so literally anything you’d like money towards. So great!
