I’ve watched it 4 times now. Once by myself and then once with my husband, my mom, and my dad. =] I’m getting everyone into it.

NumberNerd:  I LOVE the books! I am just about to go on vacation and will be starting her latest one Written in my Own Heart’s Blood.

Do you know if all of the episodes will be shown free on Youtube or was it just the first one? I was considering buying Starz just to see the show.

I read the books years ago and watched it online. It look like t’s going to be great. I’m re-reading the books again now since it’s been so long.

Dreaming42:  I just went to Scotland a year ago and its making me nostaligic too. Re-reading the books is more fun this time too because I can picture some of the places in realtion to one another on a map or from visiting them.

I only discovered the books a few years ago, so I was pretty excited to hear this was becoming a show (though I feel like I’ve become less interested in the story with the last few books, including the newest one, but I’ll feel compelled to keep reading them until Gabaldon actually concludes the story).

The actor who plays Jamie, however, definitely isn’t quite the beefcake I pictured in my mind’s eye.  And I am going to have a hard time getting used to seeing Frank/Randall played by the actor who played Brutus on Rome!  But still, the show promises to be fun, and since it’s a series that certainly caters more to women and features a female protagonist, I’m glad it got made.

I watched! I’m so excited they made this into a show, I’ve always thought it would be a great series!

My only complaint is that Jamie isn’t as tall as the books say! I feel like it was emphasized in every book several times how Jamie towers over everyone and is a large hulking man, but in the series he just seemed rather… average. My FI was like well casting can’t be perfect, to which I said if they could make the hobbits look so short in LOTR, why can’t they make one man look taller!? Haha 😛
