My grandmother recently passed and my aunt offered me my gm's wedding band... she was married for over 50 years, so i figure she will be with me and wishing me luck!
When I was sitting in the limo upon just arriving, my sister ran in to see a few people. She came out with a small box telling me it was from (FI's) Aunt Linda. Inside was a borrowed coin for my shoe that apparently all females in their family have worn for their weddings! It was such a nice surprise and a great welcome to the family!
I didn't wear it, but I wrapped my late grandmother's rosary around my bouquet.
I had my moms hanky that she wore on her wedding day tucked away...but the most special thing was I had the my grandmothers engagement ring from my grandfather pinned to my garter. The center stone is a sapphire so I had something old and blue :).
My mom's mom had this cool old BEE pin that I pinned to my bouquet. It was cool to have it with me as my something old since I never got to meet her.
I'll be wearing a necklace that was my grandma's. It's amythyst (her birthstone), and our colors are purple and orange, so it worked out perfectly :)
The pendant I am wearing is my grandmothers - it has the diamonds from her original engagement ring. She was in a serious car accident and the ring had to be cut off, so my gradfather had the stones made into a necklace. It means the world to me to wear it. My aunt did as well.
I am also carrying a white lace hanky that she carried on her wedding day. Her mother (my great-grandma) gave it to her for the occasion.
And my mom's veil.

I wore that same ring when I graduated high school. It was like she was there with me. Mermaid1082 my grandmother too was in a serious car accident that killed her and one of her friends in the car.

On my wedding day, I wore my grandmother's engagement ring and my high school class ring (to hold her ring on). I'm just curious to see if anyone else wore something special on their wedding day.
