Me.  I have been off the pill for 18 months and it is wonderful and freeing :). I cannot imagine going back on.

@mockingbird22:  I suggest talking to your doctor.  I had libido issues after my first was born and when they lasted more than 6 months after birth, I brought it up with my doctor.  He gave me an estrogen cream that I rubbed on my inner thinghs each night and after 2 weeks or so I was back to mormal.  I only used the cream for 6 weeks.

How long have you been off BC?

@mockingbird22:  Oh no! What I can tell you is my own personnal experience:

I went on the pill when I was 15, and I never really developped high a libido after that… Maybe a little here and there with new boyfriends… But that is it.

I recently stopped using BCPs, and my libido is WAY UP. First month off was when I felt it the most.

Also, I am pretty regular so far… First cycle was 27 days, and the second was 30 days…

@mockingbird22:  Yes!! I’ve been on bc for many many years, and there was a screwup with the pharmacy so I didn’t get the new pack on time, so I didn’t take them for a week. I felt so normal for that one week and everything felt great! Now, being back on the pill, libido is very low. . I can’t wait to stop them for good, but going to wait until after the wedding.

Mine is about halved on BC. Which is still more than DH can handle!

But if you’ve been off the pill for TWO YEARS–there are MUCH bigger issues at work!

@mockingbird22:  it’s possible it’s all in my head, but my libido was very high that week! I I didn’t want to go back on. I know it seems quick and maybe that wasn’t it, but I just felt so normal that week.

@mockingbird22: That sucks!  Has it come back yet?

For me, yes: the pill totally shut down my libido.  I tried several different kinds and ended up on the Patch (this was years ago).  Eventually I got lazy and we just decided to do the rhythm method, which worked for 8+ years, until now when we’re TTC.

I had a similar experience to @MiJeS1104:  I took an extra week off of my pills (beyond the regular week off) shortly before my wedding because I wanted to move my period to a different week, and I felt sooo much more “normal” and had a way higher libido. I know it wasn’t just in my head either because DH noticed it enough that he asked me not to go back on the pill after. He says I’m easier to live with when I’m not on it, plus he likes that I have a higher sex drive now.

If you haven’t recovered your libido, you should probably talk to a doctor.
