@Kandiss16:  He proposed to me after he had made dinner and lit a bunch of candles around the house. We were sitting on the couch when he proposed, and he didn’t get down on one knee. I didn’t care how he did it, honestly. 🙂

Yes he did. And yes I’m glad. It’s just what you are supposed to do, in my opinion. ( I’m very old-fashioned. )

It’s hard for me to vote because he did for one proposal, but not another.

We got engaged without a ring and we were in the car so he didn’t get down on one knee. Then when the ring came in, he actually did get down on one knee and “formally” asked me to marry him. The dress had been ordered, the invitations ready to go and the venues booked so obviously it was a yes!

It didn’t matter to me either way if he did or not, but I thought it was cute that he did.

Nope…and it pissed me the hell off…so after a HUGE fight where I finally revealed that it bothered me more than I’d like to admit…he now presents any jewelry on one knee, to make up for the ONE time I needed him to do that, and he didn’t.

Yes. And I was glad that he did! We had climbed up a rickety old fire tower and he managed to get down on one knee on the totally sketchy floorboards. So sweet!

@Kandiss16:  No. I didn’t expect him to (since where he’s from most people don’t get married and he is completely unaware of any wedding related traditions). And I thought it would bother me, but it didn’t. When it happened I knew it would happen soon, I completely knew about the ring and had seen it. I even knew when we left the house that day this was probably it. But the exact moment it happened I was not paying attention, looking at my feet. When I looked up again that box was in front of my face and I never saw it coming. It made me happy without the “down on one knee”.

Yes but I had so many butterflies in my stomach I don’t remember him doing it! We were already sitting on a log at the beach so he didn’t have far to go.
