So from all my previous posts, you all probably know that I am now almost officially a 'Two Dress Bride'.
I originally purchased the Essense of Australia dress which is a VERY pretty dress, very sweet and innocent and very traditional.
But I couldn't help but feel that it was a bit too plain, not really special enough, and didn't match my personality.
Then I stumbled upon Jenna by Maggie Sottero - and fell in LOVE. But...is it too 'sexy'? Is it classy and elegant enough? Does it fit my 'Country Romance' theme?
I'm only 85% convinced it's the right dress. Damnit.
So. Which one?
Essense:

Jenna by Maggie Sottero:
So what do I do?
Ballgown? Or the Fit and Flare?
Jenna for sure! It's not "too" sexy, just the right amount :) The other dress doesn't show your shape as well.
The Jenna shows off your figure better, it got my vote. The first one is pretty, but a little plain.
Jenna looks sooooooooooo good on you!!
So I voted for Jenna before, but I actually love the softness of Essense on you. I know, going against the bees!
I love the Jenna on you!! It definitely shows off your figure better, and it's very flattering.
I know you're favorite is the Jenna and thats clearly seen through the pictures but personally I think that your first dress (Essense) would work better for your 'Country Romance' theme. But I would definitely go with Jenna if thats what you feel best in!
WOW! You look stunning in the Jenna. It's obvious in the pictures that you feel way more confident in it too.
Personally I love the 1st one on you, but I wonder if you can get the seamstress to take it in and make it more fit & flare?(because I love the shape on you)
I agree with@Koala Bear: the second dress does not match your theme while the 1st does.
I love the first one on you. I think the Jenna is pretty but it's quite trendy and if you're looking for a classic, elegant dress, the Essense is it! It definitely goes with your Country Romance theme and is just a beautiful dress. Perhaps you could spice it up a bit with a cathedral veil and/or a sparkly headpiece with a bit of bling if that's what you wanted? Really though, I just think the Essense looks beautiful on you.
I think both dresses look pretty on you but I like the first dress better.
i am biased as i am a jenna bride and i love it! but seriously, just the way you describe it, it seems to be the one for you!
The Essence dress looks 100000x better on you, i think... not that you look bad in the other one, I just don't really like the dress in general, the other one looks wonderful on you
I really like the Essence one on you...I think it looks much nicer! I also hate to say it but I agree that the Jenna one is too "trendy" and doesn't fit your theme.
I think the Essence dress fits your theme much better. Also, the fabric on the Essence looks more expensive than the other one.. I prefer how the Essence photographs.
I think it's pretty obvious that you're in love with Jenna... go with it! It fits your own style and personaility, and that should take priority over the "theme" of the wedding. The overall theme needs to be you being happy!!
I think the Jenna looks 'trendy' or maybe even throw back to the 80s and you might look back at your pictures and think well, that was different. I really like the Essence and it has enough classicness to it that it's going to look just as good looking back on it in 20 years.
I like the Essence one much, much better.
The second one looks really busy.
I gasped when I saw ou in the first one, I think it show cases YOUR beauty more. I do love you in the maggie though...your body is fabulous, but more of the attention is on the dress.
I'm not sure what it is, but I'm not loving the Jenna in those pictures. I agree with other posters saying it shows off your shape, but you have a really intense hourglass figure, and I feel like the Jenna looks too va-voom-y (what, it's a word!), whereas the Essence looks beautiful and classier. Plus the really shiny bright white fabric of the Jenna isn't saying "Country Romance" to me. Just my opinion - you look great in both of them.
I vote for Jenna because you look AMAZING in it! You will get opinions from the hive based on what THEY like on themselves, or they will vote for dresses that they like more. But what I think is important is what YOU like more. I think you are leaning more towards the Jenna, and if that is the case be a 2 dress bride! It is NOT too sexy and it totally fits your theme. When I asked this question to the hive I got votes split down the middle and then it made it harder to chose which was MY favorite.
Think about it.... none of us have any investment in what you wear. And it's really easy to be biased when you are behind the guise of a computer screen. YOU are the one who will be looking at your wedding pictures and wearing this dress on one of the most amazing day's of your life, why should a bunch of strangers tell you what to wear and what looks better on you. Personality plays into clothes so much, and it plays into your wedding dress as well. We don't know your presonality, and it's not fair to judge based on one picture. It may be hard to break away from the computer, but if you can... step back, look at yourself in the photos and think about what you like. Not what your family, friends, consultant, or even us bee's like... what does your instinct tell about THE dress?? Which ever dress that one is.... go with it and don't look back.
I think in the end if you follow your heart you will do the right thing. Either one is beautiful and you can't go wrong!
P.S. I also noticed after some bee's comments for me that stuff they said I started to repeat to myself to talk myself out of what I really wanted, even though not everyone liked it. Be careful with those comments, and if someone says something that you never thought about before (and not in a good way) disregard it and go with your instinct. :) You can't please everyone. They might prefer something different then you, which doesn't make your favorite wrong or bad. Just different.
I actually love the Essence. I'm not a huge fan of ruffles, so perhaps that's why... but I think it def/ trumps the Jenna. Its a cleaner, classier, more beautiful bridal look overall.
Essence is classier to me for sure... I, too, and not a fan of the ruffled skirt look, especially with all the other bells and whistles that come with the dress (beading, sparkles, shiny fabric, criss cross ruching, etc). Honestly the Jenna looks like 5 dresses put together (to me!). You look lovely in both but if you're truly trying to stick with a "Country Romance" theme, the Essence wins, hands-down.
Personally, the Essence is way more flattering on you. that's just my opinion.
go with what makes you happy though!
I really prefer you in the first one. I think the simplicity of the lines looks better on you. Of course, I echo what PPs have said that YOU seem to like the Jenna more and that is what is important, but in looks alone, I prefer the Essence on you.
First of all, you look great in both of them. I like the first one the most and think it matches your theme. However, you need to wear whichever dress you like the best! Our opinions don't matter, it's all up to what makes you the happiest :)
I like the Jenna! You look much more shapely and feminine in that one, and your face shows more confidence when you're wearing that dress, too. Plus, your curves look amazing in it!
The first one is more flattering on you, is a better dress, already belongs to you, and is not one of the most popular dresses out there (at least in terms of what the Bee would have me believe). I believe they call that a win-win-win-win, my dear.
Love the Essence! So beautiful. If you think it's too plain, jazz it up with jewelry and a headpiece.
1000% the Essence. Personally, nothing about Jenna says "Country Romance".
Have you SEEN your waist in the Jenna? Maybe not, because it's so TINY! JENNA ALL THE WAY!! It's stunning!
Essence all the way
(but something tells me you like the Jenna :) )
Personally I think the EOA is way more beautiful and classy. I think the top of the Jenna is stunning, however the ruffles on that dress kill it for me. I think they are way overdone. And this is coming from someone who has already bought a ruffley dress. I wish you could attach the bottom of the first to the top of the second...Sorry if I am too honest. I figured I'd give you my opinion cause you asked for thoughts! Good luck!!!
I love the first (Essence) dress much more than the Jenna! It looks much classier, timeless, and romantic :)
I like the first dress as a whole, however the drop waist is very flattering on your body (loving the curves!), but I'm not liking the bottom of the Jenna dress- but I'm not a ruffles type person and it's your dress. Just giving my 2 cents. You can't go wrong with either though, so don't fret or overthink it, I know that's easier said than done.
I think both dresses look amazing on you but for your theme i would go with the essence dress it feels much more romantic to me.
