I’m sure many will but that’s about what I charge so it won’t be me haha! if it’s possible, why not split the extra expense with your Mom?

Ps. I find smaller weddings like that harder to shoot so don’t let the amount of guests be your guide

A lot of the brides on here think $2000 is an astronomical amount to spend on photography, so I think you’re responses here might be a bit skewed.  A lot of the time I feel like the vast majority of what ends up on SMP are beautiful photos of stuff.  It’s more about stuff than it is people.  If your wedding is going to be beautifully styled than it’s pretty easy to get those awesome shots of the stuff – the awesome people photos come from the connection and rapport you have with the photographer.

@luverly7:  PM me with the links to both photographers without telling me which is priced twice as high and I can give you my professional opinion on it! some SMP photographers are priced outrageously because they are “rock star” photographers who get featured and have great branding even if their images are not that much better than other pros, and then there are those who are true artists worth every penny of that high cost. I’d be happy to check them both out and give you an unbiased and critical opinion.

i get featured on SMP all the time and i guarantee you I am not a photographer any other photographer has ever heard of unless you are in Toronto and I shoot both amazing details and candid portraits. Just because you get featured on style wedding blogs doesn’t mean you ignore the other components of the day. I also get featured on Moment Junkie all the time too with my candid work. It’s not one or the other. Not many people pulling in that amount per wedding aren’t giving well-rounded coverage. Also, getting featured on SMP is not that hard. It’s more about the actual decor of the wedding, not the photography. Don’t judge a photographer based on being published. Many of those blogs know nothing about good Photography and don’t care either.
